Hello I'm Fimarach...Fim for short. I am an aspiring writer, editor, creator, and mad thinker lurking in the dismal swamps of Florida in the United States.
I've loved comics since I was about seven years old, my first comic being X-Men #156 (Vol 1) (Chris Claremont/Dave Cockrum). That comic endeared me to the Claremont X-Men years and to Marvel in general. It wasn't until many years later that I broadened my horizons (which are still broadening now as I turn 40). I have a very wide knowledge of comic history and minutiae, and that has given me a love of Deconstruction and Reconstruction movements in comics.
Some comic creator heroes of mine (just a sample): Stan Lee, Jim Shooter, Chris Claremont, George Perez, Frank Miller, Mark Millar, Kurt Busiek, Alex Ross, Brian Hitch, Alan Moore, Gail Simone, Grant Morrison, and Mark Waid.
I have a great day job as a project manager so I can't say that I am really looking for a "career" writing comic books, however I cannot help but aspire to create the stories that constantly burble to the surface of my mind. When I am inspired I am often very passionate about these dark little darlings of ideas. When I am passionate I cannot help but feel compelled to share with others. I think it might be most honest to say "I am in it for the love of the game".
Please forgive my plagiarism of Stan Lee's famous sign off, however in one sense I have always thought of Stan as a sort of "spiritual" father so I do it only with the deepest respect and as an homage.
