I think what it comes down to essentially is "know your audience." If your comic is heavily manga-influenced, a large portion of your audience is likely going to consist of manga fans. Most of them won't mind the right-to-left, and some of them may actually be more comfortable with it. However, it may also alienate other readers because there's no practical reason for it. And even many manga fans may see it as going too far and avoid your comic because of it.

Simply put, it all comes down to whom you want to appeal to.

It depends on how you measure the percentage. 1/5 is the lowest a comic can be rated, so that's 0%. So if the percentage is a measure of where the comic rating is between 1 and 5, then 3 is exactly halfway between those two and is measured as 50%.

Been reading Felidae by Akif Pirinçci. Some people describe it being sort of like film noir with cats. It's a pretty good read.

I'm planning a reboot for my comic, once I finish learning how to use Blender to improve my art. I had no idea what I was doing when I first got started, so there are a lot of problems with artwork, pacing, dialog layout, etc. that need to be fixed.

The way I see it, we're all dwarves standing on the shoulders of giants. Sort of like coral. It's perfectly acceptable to build on the elements created by old authors, and it's basically what people have been doing for centuries. It's why we have things like genres. By building on previous works like this, we can grow and develop and evolve new and better works. The only people who would criticize you for doing something like that are a vocal minority who do it to everybody else anyways.

A Novel Idea

Price: Free, but $2.99 to unlock some features and remove ads.

Medium: Writing and Coding Programs

Description: An iDevice app (I don't know if there's an Android version or not) designed for planning out novels, but can be used for any kind of storytelling medium, including webcomics. It can organize lists of scenes, characters, and locations for use in your work, and it also asks lot of questions that can help get creative juices flowing. It's quite useful for fleshing out your characters, writing the major events in your story and linking them together coherently, and keeping track of all the elements of your story that you come up with. Basically, it's just about everything you need to outline and organize any creative work.

Pros: Very, very simple to use. Since it's for portable devices, you can take note of any sudden epiphanies you happen to have before you inevitably forget them. And it helps to remind you what sort of information you might need to construct deeper characters and scenes.

Cons: As of time of writing, it's noticeably buggy. It crashes occasionally, and backtracking buttons don't always work the way they should. Some fields are a bit limited too.

Where to find: Apple App Store and if anybody knows about any other versions, please let me know.

I don't know about iTunes, but you might look into Kindle Direct Publishing. It seems to be mostly tailored to indie writers, but I'm pretty sure you can publish comics too.

I bet we can also expect something new regarding Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney. And probably the English version of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, considering that the official English title was just recently revealed.

And speaking of Capcom, there might be a very, very, very slight chance they'll uncancel Megaman Legends 3, but that's probably a pipe dream.

Ethical issues aside, I don't think Egypt is stable enough to be trusted with historical artifacts.

And I do have a bit of an issue with people claiming rightful ownership of things that were taken out of their country centuries before they were even born. Quite frankly, if they actually believe that any of the artifacts really belong in the hands of their "rightful owners", then they just ought to leave them in the crypts in which they were originally found and taken from. And we all know that's never going to happen.

I'm hoping Aksys will at least give us an English trailer for Zero Escape. And I'm also interested in hearing more about the Wii U.

Gerkuman:I would like to make a Tropes page, but I get paranoid due to Wikipedia's 'No editing work pages you're involved with'. Should probably give it a go though.

TV Tropes doesn't have any problem with shameless self-promotion. They even have an index for it.

My money is on Wonder Woman.

A: She's safe since the reader base, as is typical of such cases, is more likely to be accepting of a lesbian woman than it is of a gay man. Or maybe I'm just overly cynical.

B: You know what B is.

People who swear in public. Which I have to deal with on an almost daily basis when I'm at uni. I just can't stand it. It's like people think that dropping F-bombs left and right somehow automatically makes them cool. I once heard a guy loudly swearing outside of my dorm room while talking on a cell phone. To his mother. I don't really have a problem with them when they're in writing in chat rooms and forums etc., but it's just rude and gross to audibly swear in public places where everybody can hear you.

I made one of my own for Miscellaneous Error. It was one of my biggest sources of traffic while it was still being updated, and now it's practically my only source of traffic. I even managed to work in a page image.

Kupocake:His name is actually Dude Brosmith. Dudo Burosmith is my poor attempt at making it sound vaguely Japanese. XD

Personally speaking, I think it worked. Also, I liked the way you slanted the first panel to make it clear to read from left to right.

Macey:私は ひとつ かわいい です。 ^-^

EDIT:// I have no idea what the appropriate counter would be for "cuteness". Would it be general, long objects, flat objects, living, mechanical...?

Considering that it's a number on a scale, I would think it would be "ban", the counter used for position. The problem is, that would create the possibility of your post being read "I am the cutest."

Wait, I looked it up; I think 段 "dan", which denotes rank, level, or grade, would be the best choice.

Well, this is what I use for my subscription icon:

Image: http://miscerror.thecomicseries.com/files/subscribe.png

Although I have it next to a big button that says subscribe. And of course, things that might work for one particular comic's layout might not work for another.

Fastbro:Really, really like this idea. Since a large amount of my readership isn't from Comic Fury, they probably don't understand why the Subscribe button is there. If we had this it would free up some space and allow Comic Fury users to still subscribe.

I also think there might be some way to use Javascript to hide the subscribe button from non-CF members. I just don't know what it is.

1: Just by looking at it, I can tell that the URL to your icon file is malformed because you don't have any extension. It should be "icon_kr.ico", or whatever extension is appropriate for the filetype you used.

2: Browsers cache favicons. To get around this, after you've fixed the link in your code, try refreshing your page a few times. If that doesn't work, you're going to have to go to your list of files, open the image you're using in your browser, and refresh it once or twice so that your browser replaces what's in the cache with the icon you're using.
