Hope no one minds if I jump in, this looks like fun. ^^

Have to admit, the page was amusing. I'm one of those people that can listen to a song repeatedly. A hundred times might be a little much though.
The art is alright, but the blonde's head seems like its placed oddly in the first and last panels. The expression in the second-to-last panel amuses me.

In Eclipse Legend, Sterling and Tavia continue their conversation in the coffee shop.

Kyo:Do most webcomic artists use photoshop? I was under the impression that gimp, manga studio, mypaint, SAI, etc. were much more popular

I've always thought that webcomic artists who have a digital style used photoshop. Maybe I'm wrong. Personally, I use photoshop because I like how it functions. The programs you mentioned each have their own way of rendering out a line, which creates a different look. I use a macbook pro, so SAI isn't really an option. I believe Mypaint is a Linux program, and I don't think the OSX port has pressure sensitivity. Add to that the fact that I have never been able to get Gimp to properly support pressure sensitivity on my tablet- a function I find very useful- and there really is only one program I trust to get the job done. I do use manga studio, but honestly I still use photoshop for the majority of the comic process.

Good thing I have a legal copy of CS3 :) It works perfectly for my needs.

That being said, I think its a shame that adobe has gone to this method of piracy protection. I've used CS6 and its an awesome suite, but it annoyed me to no end whenever I didn't have access to the internet and it needed to verify with Adobe's servers. It makes doing any sort of work on the road difficult unless there is a stable internet connection.

TheSmilingPsycho:Is it really true that a Mac NEVER gets a virus? I mean, come on, every single Apple guy keeps telling me that they don't, but how can that be true? They act like the odds are one in a million.

I agree with Centcomm.

Macs can get viruses if the virus is specifically designed to attack OS X. People just don't want to admit it.
The reason why they don't usually get viruses is that most of the people who make them aren't interested in infecting macs since they make up a smaller portion of the computer-using world. However, since Jobs died, macs have been getting a little more attention. The odds of actually getting infected are still pretty low, but that could change if apple gets more of the computing market from PC.

I use an antivirus called Sophos on my Mac. It's pretty useful.

I've had hard drives melt, fail for no reason, and generally lose my files when I least expect it. My first mac went through three disks--two melted and one failed for no reason. I had a PC that lasted a month before it spontaneously failed on me and permanently lost 500gb of data. At this point I've managed to work out a good system of backups and external hard drives. I've got a dedicated time-machine backup disk as well as a manual backup. Yay paranoia.

One thing I've recommend when buying a mac, protect your investment. I've had to use applecare multiple times; hard drives, screen failure, motherboard replacement. Its worth it. Mac is nice, but its not indestructible.

Can they have super powers?

If so, then Haley might be useful.

Mr. Capps:"Wait a minute, what is he doing??? This should be impossible!"
"I think he is creating words by going...Upwords"
"My God..."

LOL good one.

Seriously though, Hollywood really needs to get some new writers who actually have good ideas. Either that or they need to have some better quality control for what gets approved and what doesn't. In my opinion, Battleship is a great example of Hollywood producers thinking "oh, people love giant robots and explosions, why don't we throw them into this movie. People who loved the Transformers movies will love it. And while we're at it, let's make it similar to Battle L.A." (it seriously reminds me of that movie.)
...
good grief.... Make something new Hollywood.

If you're still doing critiques, I'd love one of Eclipse Legend please.

MatthewJA:I have an iPod touch

as you may have heard it is a piece of shit and doesn't work most of the time

Apple headphones that came with it broke and are also ridiculously expensive

Having a mac does not make you a better person despite what some people think

this is my input

I don't know what kind of iPod touch you have, but I've had mine for years and its never given me any grief. It just won't die.

I agree that the apple headphones aren't very good, but I don't use them.

And you're right, having a mac doesn't make someone better than someone with windows. It just means that they spent more money on their system.
That being said, I have a Mac. And given the choice between a PC and a Mac of equal price, I'd take the Mac. Its just the system I prefer.

This looks fun. I'd like a critique of Eclipse Legend when you get the chance ^^
One thing to be aware of however, is that the pages in the very beginning are quite old. Soo... they're not very good. :P

Drew Soll - Damiayn:but no one seems to think that they have a method? really? i mean they just seem to be so good with it. they can like find anything to relate to us geeks, for a lot of their stuff id' have to continually look up what was happening in the gaming industry and interweb world... that's some good method if you ask me... anyone who makes me think and look things up... great in my book

Maybe it has to do with being relatable? It seems to me that the successful comics tend to have characters people can relate to.

I've been thinking about doing this for a while. I've finally gotten a decent amount of pages finished so hey, why not advertise. After all the internet is huge, and its much easier to get readers when I'm not lurking invisibly.

Hey everyone,
I just want to get your attention for a moment to take a look at my comic, Eclipse Legend. If you like superheroes, manga style art, action, secret agents, explosions, and weekday updates then this is the comic for you!

Darthdespario:

I gotta say, usually I lurk around, reading comics and posting my own without really bothering to interact with the community. However, that's kind of boring. I want to meet people on this site, interact, and make friends with my fellow artists.

I was like this too, which kinda explains why I never made a welcoming thread. I had jump right into the community, which has been great so far, but I must admit that I don't comment on the welcoming threads enough. But I had to respond when I read this:

Darthdespario:
My favorite superhero is Batman.

I grew up a Marvel kid, but Batman and all of his one-shots have been growing on me the past few years. I feel as if he may be slowly becoming my favorite superhero as well. What Batman comics have you read?

Thanks :)
I just wasn't sure where to start other than posting a welcome thread, *shrugs* Just want to get to know people y'know?

Marvel is pretty cool, but I mostly read DC as a kid. I must confess I can't remember all of the comics I've read involving Batman, but I really enjoyed Hush, it was a good story. The Superman-Batman comics are a good read as well.

Randal:
Darthdespario:My favorite superhero is Batman.

I've noticed all my favorite heroes tend to be assholes... Namor, Quicksilver, Iron Man, Batman, Guy Gardner (as Green Lantern)... all of them are sort of, well... pricks. =D

lol, you're right. :P

adamisgr8:Welcome! Batman is awesome. Therefore.... So are you :D

:D Thank you, I'm honored.

Lewis T:Hey! welcome to comic fury, its good to have you here! :)

Thanks :D its good to be here!

Jrade:I'm tempted to stop with rhymed introduction...
Mainly to increase my rate of production,
But I shan't! Rhymes will continue from me!
And right now, these rhymes are directed at thee:
Welcome, good luck, with all of your works -
You should enjoy it here!
We have a quite low proportion of jerks...
So...basically, don't fear!
There may be some harsh words, but pay them no heed -
The community's here to support, if you need...
Welcome! Enjoy! Have some good times!
Welcome some new people, and such -
One hint, stay away from rhymes:
With them, you can only do so much...

Have fun on the fora! Read some good stuff!
It's simply the best place; one can't get enough!

*blinks* Woah, so much rhyming

Thank you for the welcome!
I'd try to answer in rhymes, but I just feel dumb :P

Onecanofsprite:Hey man.

hi, what's up? ^^
