Wouldn't be doin my job if I didn't do a lil shameless self advertising so here we go!
Anyhoo, one of my comics has begun it's first stride and I think finally worth sharing as it waddles it's first baby steps across ComicFury. I sopeak of "It Can Always Get Worse".
The comic is silly and very cartoony following the exploits of Quigley the lizard and Snert the snake. It's a lil too early to divulge too much of the plot but yer all big kids, I think ya can figure it out. So with that, give it a look see and I hope you enjoy ICAGW!
Howdy folks, Names jake A.W. or Mr. SlackerJAW. I used to be a part of the site updatin all kinds of comicy things here and there but life ended up getting in the way. (Stupid life, shame on you.) Anyhoozle, in the past months I have spent my time improving my art and have two webcomics coming soon! And by soon i mean this saturday and sunday. >.>
So with that figured I'd do a lil pimpage and send out a lil hype. The two coming soon are:
It Can Always get Worse!
ICAGW is the story of Quigley and Snert, a small angry lizard and a jerk of a snake as they are sent to hell, through time, battle zombies, and above all else make things worse if they hope to ever reclaim their souls.
The story is silly with a very vibrant and cartoony style.
Action Sloth follows the adventures of a young man named Orville "Jay" Derrigan. After a terrible accident he awakens to find he hasn't suffered even a scratch and above all else, has somehow aquired superpowers. To make matters stranger, weird creatures are beginning to appear all over the city of Edgebend and Jay is the only opne who can stop them. He soon discovers being a superhero isn't as easy as it looks especially when you have weird monsters, supervillians, and a powerful organization looking to destroy you.
The story is a superhero/adventure/action/comedy/anthro style comic.
Anyway, hope some of you folks will check em out this weekend and with that thanks for reading.
Tryin to work on that. So far every comic I've tossed on here has been pretty much bashed so most I'mma do is keep tryin to make more and more till ones good enough for folks lol. It's been my goal to be a professional since I was lil' so if that means tossin everythin I make out the window and startin again then thats exactly what I'm gonna do. ^^
I appreciate the critique, sadly this is about as funny as my life is. Aside from what I place in the comics I deal with bankruptcy, car accidents, and tourette syndrome that has basically screwed me over in every aspect of life.
I'm workin on findin more funny material but as far as lookin at the slices of my life ya ain't gonna find much else.
I've tried makin backgrounds in other comics sadly however I am not good at them what so ever and with somethin like westbound most of the comics take place in the exact same spot. I wouldn't have any use for alotta backgrounds.
I aint bashin on yer critique infact like i said i appreciate yer take on it. Just means i gotta search out more for my audience.
I tend to listen to a lil bit of everything but my favorites are usally bands like mad caddies, reel big fish or metal bands like Lordi or deathstars. And if you want epic music ya can't go wrong with Two Steps From Hell.
Fragmented:leave the furries alone. They're not hurting anybody, they're just a different type of person. Everyone is all understanding of gays and lesbians and stuff, but as soon as one person starts fucking people while wearing a dog costume and suddenly everyone's up in arms.
I'm not sure if this is irony, or whatever; but I do have tendency to agree that furries have become the punching-bag of the internet. My understanding is that most people who call themselves furries are not like the people who pop into your head when you hear the word furry. Generally they just identify strongly with a specific animal. As far as I know, most don't wear costumes or do freaky crap; and generally those that do use their furrydom aren't exactly respected among the rest of the furry community.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like the internet has greatly exaggerated the extent of this whole thing.
But I could be wrong, in which case I apologize.
Actually that sounds spot on from my perspective. Many of my characters tend to be of the anthropomorphic persuasion or "Furries" but this is mostly do to the fact of the things I grew up on from thundercats, swat kats, hannah barbera cartoons, looney tunes, all of which had walkin talkin animals as the main focus characters. I've always enjoyed the idea of an animal with more human characteristics or personality not to mention I actually put meaning behind the reasons or make the story so absurd to begin with it's not even a moot point.
Well welcome to the fury m'adam and enjoy yer stay. And indeed the meatloaf is good but ya do end up payin for it the next day... and a lil bit the following weeks... but after that it's smoooooth sailing... *holds stomach*...
