Anyway, I hope it isn't moving too slowly for anyone, sometimes it's a fine line between establishing an emotion or scene and dragging things out. It's important to the characters though, trust me! Thanks everyone for reading and if you have any questions let me know :] Thanks!
patchzilla:I'm stoked for more.
All nods in regard to the Bob Dylan and Scott Pilgrim references but I also want to ask "The Jareths?" As in Jareth the Goblin King as played by David Bowie in Labyrinth?
I could swoon if his Ziggy-unitard hid more.
This comic has a great indie-feel by the way.
Thank you!!! And yes, the Jareths are referencing Labyrinth, they are the new popular band on the scene, and they are all dressed like Jareth from Labyrinth...they are oh so much fun to draw! Thank you so much!!
AngryRob:Yeah my style is "Inspired" by several different artists too, so many that I don't think I can really be accused of copying anyone in particular, which is all part of my evil plan! BWAHAHA! Here are artists that I steal from!
Jim Mahfood, Mike Allred, Craig Thompson, and Jeff Smith among others
Awesome, you have a great list there!! Especially Jeff Smith and Craig Thompson...and Mike Allred....and Jim...OK so they are all awesome. Very nice!
AngryRob:You can definatly tell you were inspired by O'malley, but at the same time theres enough of your own style there to where it doesn't look like you're just ripping him off, and I like how your style changes depending on the comic, Theres quite a bit of difference between this and Ginger Curls (which I'm a big fan of) but you can still tell they're from the same artist. Can't wait to read more, keep up the good work
Aww thank you :] I like to think of my style as a visual barf of all of the people who inspire me. I was experimenting with Ginger Curls and I'm glad I did because I do like the how the style compliments the kind of dream-like state. If I did it in my original style I don't think i'd like it as much? Hehe thank you, so much!!
Haha yes, I am a fan of Bryan Lee O'Malley, I can't lie, his work definitely inspires me, but I do try to have my own style and pay homage. Scott Pilgrim is definitely one of the better comics I've read this year.
Ohh and for those who missed it, I did update last night around midnight! I should pick a better time to update...
