So, we have this boy named Genova. He doesn't like who or what he is, he doesn't like where he lives, and he certainly doesn't like the aura of insufferable arrogance that surrounds him. And then we have this girl named Terrie that's equally strange but seems pretty okay with it. As much as they frustrate each other sometimes, they form a bond that's eventually romantic, but it might prove difficult to be an item when one of them is a walking experiment that's supposed to be heavily-guarded.
Highly Experimental (or HiEx for short) follows the lives of these two young adults along with others as they attend an eccentric schoolhouse devoted to the science in an isolated nowhere townfull of filler characters, many of whose last name is Generic. And they will eventually get involved with findings that they probably shouldn't have as Terrie tries to get Geno to appreciate himself and the life he was given.
