Comic Fury Webcomic Hosting - Battleship: The Movie [Oh my god it actually escaped devolopment hell]

So yeah, for those of you who haven't heard they actually made that Battleship movie that has been stuck in development hell for the past few years.



Now before you all say things like,"Oh god hollywood has hit a new low!" I want to remind you all of that CLUE movie that came out in 1985.


Here is the trailer for the battleship movie.

So the trailer starts off nice enough with the black keys playing in the background, so it can't be too bad right? Then you see Liam Nelson and you think "This is kinda sad. That guy used to win oscars. Now he is in a Battleship movie." And then the giant alien robots pop out of nowhere.

What the hell.

OK, now you can say hollywood has hit a new low. Because not only do they make dumb action movies with giant robots in them, no no no, they make dumb action movies about board games and then add giant robots in them.

To be honest, I will probably watch it if Liam Nelson says "you sunk my battleship" somewhere in it.

I can't wait for the Monopoly Movie.

i don't think this has any relation to the game, i haven't seen it myself so it might.

The only thing i could think was how many other, less retarded, things this money could have went towards.

I actually remember seeing this movie advertised in the cinemas. I saw it and part of me died inside. I'm thinking of Hollywood as one single writer somewhere who is like: "I need to come up with an idea, I need to feed my family by making a movie script and getting $$$"

And he's just like, crawling on the floor looking for ideas and occasionally picking up children's toys and going: "A GI JOE MOVIE." and then picking up some aliens and cowboys actionfigures and going: "BRILLIANT, COW BOYS AND ALIENS"


This time he just started going through the games cubboard under the sink, he was going to do Mouse Trap the Movie, but remembered it had already been done

I can't believe they made this but rejected my idea for a movie about minesweeper

Oh my god a Minesweeper movie would be hilarious.

What is worst is all the money that people are going to spend on this movie watching it.

I was half-expecting these to be SyFy 'originals', but seeing actual money went into this just makes me sad.

Hungry Hungry Hippo would be a great movie. A horror story about a group of carnivorous hippos.

I am going to watch the shit out of Battleship and I AM GOING TO ENJOY IT.

You see the real genesis was a guy trying to do for the surface fleet what Top Gun did for the fly-fly boys. It took 20 years but Hoo-rah here it is!

Yes, I am geeky enough to know what ships the hull numbers represent.

But they wasted how much on this when they could have just done Jutland or Midway or Leyte Gulf?
