C: I like it, she's chosen nice colours and patterns :D She's done a very good job.

I think its nice, I only have two criticisms I would make, and that is only because I am really trying evaluate it.

First, I would add some of the vine pattern to the upper part of the dress as well because it just seems empty and plain there, like there should be one more bit of a vine and it is not drawn.

Second, I assume the top part is supposed to be fur, if so adding some texture to it through a light pattern on it or possibly making the outline less smooth might suggest that more.

Yeah, I see what you mean about the vines. I'll add a few in.

Also, the top part is going to have a pattern as well. The whole thing is supposed to have a sort of satin look to it.

Cool. I really do like it, clothes are the thing I totally suck at drawing. I am never sure what to put my characters in.

This will probably be the last one I post here before finishing it up and putting it on my comic site. Any last tips? (Yes, there will be a pattern on the top part and I'll add shading to the skin above the bustline and below the bottom of the dress).

Awesome! I like the change you made to the shading as well, I think the softer gradient look really works better for the soft look of the dress.

I remember the great Wally Wood saying, "we all steal from one another, it's what we do!" But to me, he means we are influenced by other artists, and influence and outright theft are two different things.

Absolutely. Pretty much every mainstream comic artist has "stolen" something from the likes of Jack Kirby, and almost every indie comic artist has "stolen" something from Robert Crumb.

Hell, you could even argue that Picasso and Braque were both "stealing" each other's ideas when they created their early Cubist works.

The line between influence and theft can be very fine, but most of us can recognise when that line has been crossed!

You're right, it does look like a paw. I'll fix that up too.

I know there's people who will stop at nothing to steal artwork, but my goal with the copyright notice is just to make it such a pain to try and steal the artwork that it would be easier for them to just do their own drawing.

I doubt they'll get rich and famous off some random drawing of a girl in a dress

I wanted to make a print of it at some point, though. It just makes me uncomfortable that someone would try to say that they drew what I actually did. For certain random drawings and doodles, I wouldn't care as much, but in this particular instance, I want to watermark it.

I dunno, Kyo. I feel so tempted to draw Audrie from my comic in that dress, you don't know!

After starting the drawing for a crazy nightmare panel for my comic I am almost wishing my characters always had noodle arms, it makes everything so much easier to draw.

ugggghhhhh it's getting to the point where it's not a chore to draw these pages, but just hard to.
I've been so slow with everything lately it just feels like I'm dragging my heels with this.
It's also got to a point where I want to develop more plot and characters for it but I've already made it too complicated.

It seems like every week, I get a little more behind. :I Last week I was struggling to have the inking done by Thursday, and this week... I just got the sketch done for the page last night.

there has been a page sitting on my desk half sketched for a month and I've only just now gotten around to colouring it. I took this break so I could work on comics :c but it seems like the world just doen't want me too

"nope gotta work on your major work, nope gotta work on your school stuff, nope gotta work on these holiday assignments, nope gotta work on GA, now you can work on Tempus I guess--Nope gotta help mum do stuff all day long"
