I noticed, to my knowledge, there's not one of these yet. I'm not much of a politics or whatnot person, so you guys handle the discussion.

I believe sex, politics and religion discussions bring out the worst in people. Maybe that's why threads like em don't pop out very much?

here in america we are being entertain by the cirrus put on by the republican nominees.

I said this before elsewhere on the forum, but I swear the GOP is letting all their crazies run this time around so they can get them out of the way.

so yeah, I am all for mr. obama.

... *Bashfully presses the ONLY KIDDING SORRY button on the opposite wall*

EDIT: Just thought, on second thought, that I should add to the thread instead of just dicking around in it. :P

I have to kind of agree with you Capps, the way the politics in the U.S.A. works really baffles, entertains and occasionally frustrates me. It seems more like a madhouse than a stable government.

Political discussions trigger the crazy-stupid reflex in many, many people. I was banned from another site for just beginning one once. This can't end well.
[Backs out of thread]

(But yes, American politics are a joke. You watch the crazies dance for awhile, then you choose the lesser of two evils.)

As long as it stays contained in this thread, and everyone refrains from personal slights and name calling, I think it should be fine. I do know what you mean though, but as soon as that begins to happen (if it begins to happen) this thread can be reported, closed and left as a cautionary tale to all those who dare discuss...

... politics.

That's actually a good idea. Yeah. Hopefully Kyo understands. We could use this as an example to what may happen if politics are discussed.

So..Who thinks Obama will win again? :D It's funny cuz I just had this discussion in government class today. It looks like Romney's the one for Republicans, but it doesn't look like he's got much enthusiastic support from his own party, either...

I really do not understand American politics, no wait, let me rephrase, I really do not understand American politicians. As an outsider, I simply get all the "These people are stupid" or "Republicans are gonna win you guize" videos and debates here.

also yeah, polticial debates are a sure fire way to start arguements and problems. Oh sure, they all start out so nice and level and cool, but then some nutter comes in and starts ranting, and that brings more and before you know it

bam

loss of sanity

American politics aren't hard to understand. To become a politician all you have to do is pull your pants down, grab your ankles and shove your head as far up your ass as you can.

I agree, Obama has won, whether you like him or not.

Romney is too out there for a lot of people and there is a crazy number of people that seem to freak out that his is Mormon. So, there are a lot of Republicans that just do not seem thrilled for him. Whether they would actually vote for a Democrat or a 3rd party is another thing, but I could see a lot of them not bothering to go out and vote because they don't really care about the candidate.

Whereas a lot of Democrats are really worried about how extreme to the right the Republican party has gotten and I think will go out in greater numbers just to try to suppress that.

It would be awesome to live in a country that did not have this crazy two party system. (Yes, there are more than two, but they really never win anything.)

As somebody who lives in America and actively follows politics let me say I really do not understand American politicians

Just about anyone's pet dog would then qualify as an American politician.

Just saying.

I honestly don't care about politics, but from what little CNN I've forced myself to watch over the past 4 years I've leaned:

1. Machinehead speaks the truth.
2. Obama will probably win again (not that I'd vote for him or Romney if I was old enough to vote)
3. Obamacare pretty much is just forcing Americans to have health insurance
4. We owe the rest of the world $15,000,000,000,000 or something ridiculous like that

Otherwise, the time has been split between school and ComicFury, so I don't pay attention to it. I just hate to think of the day when I have to care about this.

So much for this being a valuable discussion of politics.

As someone who lives outside America, I do understand American politics.

It's like watching Rangers and Celtic. People stand at opposite ends, yell abuse at each other and then go home. It's altogether quite fun to watch.

As for the Presidency race, it's a matter of following the numbers:
Rollo's guess.
"So that's with I think, Romney-Rubio vs Obama-Clinton in November."
