I recently made a TV Tropes page for my comic (here) and in doing so learnt that an incredible amount of CF hosted comic have a page too.

Do you make your page yourself or do you rely on the readerbase?

There was a page for The Serious (a horrible comic that I deleted) for awhile until it got taken down. It basically was a page describing why the comic sucks, and I agreed with every word of it. It got taken down for being a "blatant troll-page."

I actually recognize a handful of comics on that list! Just goes to show, the huge number of comics on this site that I haven't even found yet.

None of mine are there. I'm totally relying upon my readerbase.

Because of my mixed feelings towards TVTropes, I'm unlikely to make one for my own comic. But if a loyal reader wants to do it, I'm not stopping 'em.

I made one of my own for Miscellaneous Error. It was one of my biggest sources of traffic while it was still being updated, and now it's practically my only source of traffic. I even managed to work in a page image.

I've been avoiding putting my comic on there for no real reason other than laziness. Are there advantages? Do you get readers from them stumbling through that site?

Depends, you'll need to link to your page from other TVTropes pages but if you invite your readers to add to it once you've created it it should take off. I'll be keeping an eye on my google anylitics over the next few days in any case.

I thought about this many-a time. TvTropes is a lot of fun. However, I want to have more to my comic before I go and do it. Though, if someone beats me to it, well that's ok too. I doubt anyone's gonna do that though. So, maybe one day.

That's what I hear. It seemed like someone mentioned that a lot of traffic comes from TVTropes.

I was going to make a page, but I ultimately don't know how to create a page.

I'm probably unlikely to make one for my comic. I think I'm too curious what someone else might say.

I explicitly wrote an arc around "Hitler's Time Travel Exemption Act" just so I could find an excuse to get a link from TV Tropes.

I made one for mine about a year ago. Some wonderful person went through a few months later and added a bunch of tropes. *u* So happy~

It hasn't seen much activity since then. Brings in quite a few hits, though. o-o

I tried to go on and make a page for EverydayAbnormal this weekend.

I ended up reading articles about... something. I don't even remember. I lost like three hours.

TV Tropes will ruin your life.

I made one for my comic a while ago. I added about 4 tropes and only linked it back from one list page - still brings in a decent amount of traffic, somehow. I haven't looked at it for a long time, so if anyone else has added any tropes and/or trolling, I'm blissfully unaware... :x

Last year I started TROPE WORLD just to be able to do each trope at TROPE WORLD. I've abandoned it until I've done my graphic novels (and have time to spend on it).

So I went ahead and made a page for Thornsaddle. That was after I spent hours just reading about tropes. I'm curious to see what effect it will have on the comic, if any.

If most of your characters all get on a bus after one had a bridge dropped on them, you'll know!

More Importantly, it'll get people that read webcomics to your site. especially if you link to poignant examples of the tropes in action. Even if the comic is finished, heck there's a trope page for finished webcomics too!
