Comic Fury Webcomic Hosting - Best Wife Ever!

So I recently had a problem with my comic not showing up on the Comic Fury front page everytime I updated the strip.

Wondering wtf was going on, I sent out an S.O.S. in another forum thread.

Eventually Kyo informed me that my comic was temorarily banned from the fron page because there were a few accounts casting votes for my comic, all originating from my own computer (a major non no here on Comic Fury).

Perplexed, I did a little investigating, and found out that my wife had been secretly posing as other people, using different Comic Fury accounts, casting votes and leaving tons of comments on my comics, all because...


...she loves me, and wanted to boost my self esteem, and make me feel like my comics were being read by people who liked to leave comments. :)

Little did she know, she'd get me in trouble with the site admins.

She felt bad when I told her I'd been temporarily banned from the front page, but I told her I was flatered that she'd do that for me.

My girlfriend has done things like that on occasion, most notably getting my WoW account banned after spending a week I was gone on business gold farming on her account, then regularly transferring everything she harvested over to my character (they thought I was buying gold, after a month of explaining the situation it was resolved).

Seriously, she's awesome. The internet demands you give her a fist-bump for her awesomeness.

Little did Gary know, his wife was actually recently hired by a rival webcomic to do this not for his self esteem, but to get the comic remove from the front page.

My wife barely knows what a web comic is or that I do them, let alone make up false ID's so she can increase my readership.

Awww, how sweet. Classic case of misunderstandings right there. Shame you got banned from the front page, but rules are rules.

My Mum AND Granny actually suggested doing this.

But I told them all no, not allowed and I banned all members of my household from making ComicFury accounts.

Granny did make one, but she wouldn't have a clue how to vote (she doesn't even know how to login really... she gets very confused, even more so now since she had her accident).

I can see the temptation of cheating, I'm not gonna lie, I've done it myself on smackjeeves back when I was just a young teenager. I was actually quite surprised about the amount of cheating/family-voting going on when I first put cheating detection systems in place.

It's easy to forget that every time you game the system to give yourself a spot somewhere, you're also taking that spot from someone else who legitimately deserved it. That's why we don't ban accounts or delete comics when cheating is being caught, I think very rarely people do it just to be dicks. It's probably just eagerness or young wrecklessness in most cases.

You need to introduce your wife to proxy sites. If you use Firefox then you can even download a plugin, Foxy Proxy, that will let her post and rate from different IP addresses.

Damn, you are lucky! My wife could care less about my comic. She even asked me the other day if I was still drawing those stupid pictures. I'd hang on to that lady, she's a keeper!

...Maybe it's just because I'm a girl, but I'd be pissed if my boyfriend did that. o.o I'd rather him just give the link to people he knows instead.
