Riddle me this, what type of fool would wear a bat-themed suit and fight crime?

Oh, this guy.

One of the most iconic comicbook superheroes out there, The Bat has left his mark on popular culture everywhere. This thread is meant to be a discussion of all things Batman. Whether that is the comics, the video games, the movies (yes, even the dreaded Schumpeter films), or the television shows. Nothing Batman related is off topic here.

Anyway, lets get this thread started.

So exactly how many robins did he have?

Last I counted there were four or five but I could be wrong.

Batman the Animated Series was the biggest influence on me as a kid (I never missed an episode and saw them all when they originally aired).

My username comes from the title of an episode.

Old School Batman and Robin is the best.

That man had a solution to every problem in the form of some utensil kept in his belt.

"Get out the Bat Shark repellent spray!"

Adam West is amazing.

Also, I have a friend who now tells me she never experienced anything Batman in her childhood and I must now educate her in the way of the bat.

Dick, Todd, Tim, (Stephanie if you want to count her), and Damian.

I love my Robins.

The old Batman and Robin TV show is one of the first things that got me into super heroes when I was a kid. (I would buy the DVD in a heartbeat if they are ever able to release it). And Robin III with Tim was my first comic. To this day, if something has Tim in it - I will buy it.

Batman, how did you escape?

Well luckily I always carry my "Bat Carousel Reversal Spray"

God I love Adam West, he's just too great. I also love how dodgy those old school batman shows are, where all the costumes are cheesey and Batman always ends up dancing for some reason. And I loved how he had purple gloves :U

also Batman is the only person who can weld fins to his car and not look like a retard doing it.

Adam West is Batman to me. Full of camp and ridiculous tools and the ability to make fun of himself as batman.

"Holy ______ Batman" was probably my most quoted thing as a kid...actually that is a lie. I still quote it to death now.

"Holy G-Force Batman, the blood is rushing to my head!"

Batman TAS was the bees knees and to this day my favourite Batman-related ANYTHING. Yes, I value it more than Killing Joke or Hush.

Also this might be a slightly unpopular opinion, I'm not sure, but I really enjoyed Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns. It's one of those comics I feel that left a mark on my art, albeit a subtle one if it did.

Can't have a Batman discussion without bringing up the number one Batman fanfiction writer Frank Miller.

That's the first Batmobile and to be totally honest I think it's probably one of the better ones.

If Batman were to order a new car tommorrow, he should ask for a DeltaWing which is competing in this year's Le Mans 24 Hour Race. Seriously.

So...

Anybody play Gotham City Impostors? It's a pretty fun spin-off.

And Carrie Kelley, if you include DKR. Best female Robin yet. (Sorry, Steph fans!)

Yes, but I have never gotten a chance to read it. It really is on my must read sometime.

I should probably link some of the TDK trailers in here.

I am pretty excited for this movie. Hopefully it isn't too long, it clocks in at 2 hours and 45 minutes long supposedly.

Contrary to popular opinion I wasn't too impressed with the Nolan Batmans. Something about them just didn't click with me. ...and then there's the fact that Christian Bale is trying to out-growl David Hayter with his batvoice.

Then again, I don't think any of the movies has fully nailed it. I think Burton's Bats came closest to getting the perfect visuals but the casting and story weren't quite there. Nolan's are balanced in most aspects, it does everything okay, but sometimes it feels a tad too grymdarkxtreme for me. A certain absurdness/silliness played straight is one of the things that makes Bats Bats for me.

Just a personal opinion but oh well.

Thank you for explaining my opinion better than I ever could have. The fact that the story in Burton's films were lacking is why Mask of the Phantasm is definitely my favorite bat-movie.

I had something written here but I didn't like what it said anymore.

So I got rid of it.
