Having finally broken my 20 strip personal minimum, it's probably about time to invite y'all to My Mediocre Mind!
... mind, I waited until strip 22, so I continue to be incapable of doing basic arithmetic!
My Mediocre Mind is the story of Jason Delain, a failed artist struggling to find where normal is in an increasingly bizarre world. Haunted by manifestations of his own self-loathing and inner child, he finds himself faced with life after a nervous breakdown, a career in shambles, and friends who have no idea just how cracked he's become.
I started the comic for two reasons, primarily as a method to get me started drawing again after a nearly seven year hiatus from the art world, but also as a method of personal stress relief, since it's loosely based on some of my own real-life experiences (as I tend to talk about in the notes accompanying each strip). The first strip was, almost literally, the very first comic I'd attempted to draw in the better chunk of a decade (and it's VERY obviously my first attempt), so it also serves as a great yardstick on my own progress.
So, if you'd like to take a glimpse into the life of a man living a real-life dark comedy, feel free to start from the beginning and tell me what you think!
