I love the front page's "From the Forum" column, since it tells me which threads have updated and all. However, it's somewhat frustrating that when you click on the threads from the front page, it sends you to the first page of that thread. I think it would be beneficial if instead, clicking the thread (from the front page) sends you to the last page of the thread, latest post.

I know it's only two clicks away, but it doesn't make sense to me that the front page will tell you who was the last person to post, but clicking on it starts you off with the original thread creator.

I believe I made this suggestion awhile ago, but I don't remember if Kyo said he could do it/was going to or not.

But I totally support this.

Why not both?
Just leave an option just below the title of every thread (in the column of course)
that says "1"(with a link to the first page of that thread) and a number that represents the amount of pages that thread has, lets say "9" (with a link to said page number) that means the last page.

I think that if you take out the "go to the first page" option, the people that hasn't had the opportunity to check that thread in particular will have the same problem you have now :P but the other way around

resulting this of someone Making another thread about this in the future because he/she doesn't want to go to the last page ;D

so I think both options should be nice :/

Well the thing is the front page information is completely outdated in longer threads and the only time you ever need to look at it is to maybe remember the rules of the thread. But people want the most recent information/posts rather than to see something they already know is there.

and options for every individual thread would probably be annoying. I dunno

I kind of feel the same way. It would look too busy if there was an option, and in a logical sense, if the front page says that so-and-so just posted in some thread, you'd think clicking on the link would bring you to that person's post, not start you from the beginning.

But then that brings up the old argument of "latest page/first page" deal when it comes to webcomic homepages. Bluh.

Well the argument for that for latest still stands here.

New readers aren't going to want to see old art. Readers coming back are going to want to see the latest page, not go all the way back to something they've already seen.

Change art/page to post, and there ya go.

I wanted to update the forums to record what page of a thread you've been on already (the same way clicking on titles in your subscriptions is handled basically), and then send you to that page by default. I haven't done that yet, though.
