Comic Fury Webcomic Hosting - Regarding comments: if I turn them off, will the comments already posted disappear?

What it says on the box.

I've enabled disqus comments and everyone pretty much uses that now. Once and a while someone comments via comicfury, which wouldn't be a problem except those comments show up in the RSS feed! Which is messy and annoying.

If I switch "allow comments" to "no," will all the preciously posted comicfury comments disappear? If I can, I'd like to keep them up, because a lot of comments were added before disqus was implemented.

But if doing so would delete previous comments, I think I'd just turn moderation on or something to circumvent it.

OR... maybe there's just a line of code I can delete to get rid of the option to leave a comment. I could figure that out pretty easy if it came to that.

If you don't receive an answer, try making a test comic, uploading a random image, posting a comment, then turning comments off for the test comic. See the results and then delete that test comic.

(That's all I've got since I don't know. That's just what you should do if you don't get an answer)

Disabling comments does not delete them from our system, no. There are two options, one disables comments to be left, the other one hides existing comments (but doesn't stop people from being able to leave comments, that way you can only see them in management)

The comments shouldn't show up in the RSS feed, though. Do you use some sort of third party system?

And yeah, I'm using Page2RSS right now, because I wanted my author comments to show up in the feed when I posted a new comic and they weren't with the default RSS.

But I'd wanted to eliminate the dual commenting system anyway, so this is just a good excuse to do so.

ah yeah, we need to revamp our RSS capabilities a bit.
