A little text has been added underneath the voluntary advertisements on webcomics (if you have the voluntary ads enabled). It reads the following:

This is a voluntary opt-in advertisement. Any profit generated goes to Comic Fury for hosting.

It should be small and unintrusive. The reason I added this is so that people who see the ads will know that they don't have to enable them if they sign up to CF. It also might bring some people to CF. Again, you will only have this on your webcomic if you checked the "display ads to support comicfury" checkbox when making your comic. You can disable/enable the setting in your webcomic settings as well.

If you want to keep the advertisement, but get rid of the text, add the following to the top of your comics layout css:

#voluntarytext {
 display:none;
}

Thanks for displaying the voluntary ads! I hope this doesn't cramp your style or anything. Have a nice day and keep hosting with ComicFury.

PS: Did you know you can add a real domain to your comic? Like www.mycomicurl.com? You just need to buy the domain and then contact us via the contact us form.

End of message

At first I wondered if we'd added that, but I really like it. The one thing I was thinking that might be clearer would be to mention that any another ad on the site supports the creator themselves?

Maybe "This is a Voluntary, Opt-In Ad to support Comic Fury. Any other ads shown support the creator(s) of this comic."?

Problem is that that might be confusing for comics that don't have their own ads, which is most of them. Not to mention, I really don't want the text to be wider than the ad.

But customizing the text is of course entirely possible. Just hide the default one and make your own.

Seems ai'ight, I have no qualms about this, now I can whore CF out even more than I normally do.

I still think: "Please click these ads or some thugs are gonna break my legs" is far more accurate.

Fair enough, I'm not terribly concerned what my ad does or doesn't say at this point ;)

I do not argue against this at all.

Especially due to the fact that Kyo has stated that he sometimes loses more money from this site than he makes.

He's really doing all he can to support our comics, so why should I argue?

I like it.

But now I have to edit out the small text on my site that I've already put under there beforehand!

Or just paste the code in the post to your webcomic. I think individualized/personalized messages are cooler than the generic one.

Mine is this: http://comicfury.com/?r_in=1711

So find your user number, and just replace that 1711 with that. You can find it by checking the info on your user avatar, the first portion of the number link is your user number.

I'll do that then and edit my message to link to the main site.

The referral link also sounds awesome!

thanks bio. In the future don't post if it's in an old thread though, as the spam gets deleted and your post will still be there, bringing the thread back to the top
