Wow, yeah. Can you believe it? The site is now a few days older than a year.

In one year, we got over 10000000000 members (base 2) many smaller site updates and a major one. The forums keep becoming more and more active and we have about 650 webcomics now. That means we basically got 2 webcomics every single day, if they were distributed evenly over the year. That's nowhere near as good as what the major hosts are doing, but I am quite proud regardless. These days, we get multiple members every day and the community just keeps growing. We keep adding features and layouts and are continuing in our position as self-proclaimed underdog webcomic host. We can do it!

Of course the site would have gone nowhere without the people who helped. I want to specifically mention some of you who helped;

Ash from thewebcomiclist.com for giving me some free ad space. He's the man.
Cyborg, for his wonderful guide and eagerness to help the community
Jeff (AFStaff) for his generally not doing anything, but always doing something. You and me, we will write that book!
All of my users and friends who helped building the site by giving me feedback, suggestions and reporting bugs
Those who helped when I first founded the site and money was short.
Everyone who is doing layouts and/or translations for the site
and everyone who I didn't mention, but did something helpful

But enough about the past, let's look in the future:

I mentioned this in the layout guide thread, but I am looking to simplify layout building.
I want to make a help/tutorial section soon
ComicFury in several languages, this too is in the works.
I have many many other things planned which I've mentioned before, and I'm too lazy to mention them again. This is already a wall of text.

Let's hope the second year for comicfury will be just as nice, and we will evolve to a community with thousands of people, so that the first 1000 we have now can be elitist about being here first. (In your face, everyone! I was here first!)
Future thousands of members reading this, don't be sad. You can still be elitist about having a massive post/comment/referrer/profile view count

I really like ComicFury. ^_^ The name is catchy, "Comic Fury." I like the layouts and all that's in it!
ComicFury is really fast, because while I was looking through comics on here and SmackJeeves... Smackjeeves was really slow on the loading. And ComicFury really loaded it quickly. Awesome place! I hope this place gets really popular like other webcomic hosting! ^_^

Congrats on a year of success, hay dont be descuraged in the slightest if your not as huge as any of the other comic host sites. This place rocks and besides like any buisness you figure 3 - 5 years before you go super huge or something like that if I rember my highschool course right on buisness. besides I've tried other comic sites in the past this is the easiest I've ever used, almost no thinking needed. well just enough to create the comics and upload them!

GRATZ again on a big milestone!

the whole "ComicFury" thing is just an acronym. It stands for Comics On My Interneting Computer For... Ummm.... Readers? Yeah....
Layout? I practically wrote the book on layouts. It's all probably being move to a wiki somewhere though. Still don't want to deal with the code? I'll do it for you.

Right now I'm fixing a lot of this and that - adding layouts, but soon I will have 6 weeks of vacation, so I'll be able to add plenty of features. Big and small

And soon I will be at school. A Chem Major with a Physics minor does not have lots of free time so expect me to be even less useful :D

Seriously though I have no idea how much free time I'll have from here-on-out but I should always have at least enough time to give what I've mostly been giving and that's ideas and feedback on technical things with kyo. While I'm technically the layout designer I really serve more of a role as brainstorming buddy for new features, this doesn't really take any time as it can be done by e-mail if need be so don't expect that aspect to suffer anytime soon. Also I have a couple new layouts planned (I believe I mentioned that elsewhere) that should be done within the next few weeks so I'll try to get those up and running at 100% before I get swamped with moving and academic nonsense.

if you are a layout designer, you are the worst at your job ever. Out of all the new designs, you didn't make a single one

That's because we have like, 2 new templates and the rest are just copies.

WHY DO WE ALWAYS FIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN?

Fine. I'm changing the color scheme on rainbow tables to different shades of blue and calling it "UNDER THE SEA RAINBOW TABLES" and it will be awesome.

Also I have to discuss with you a few details about some new features.

Dammit, I missed out on that first 1000 wave of cool people. I'll have to settle with being a second rate (eventual) old timer.
