I just finished The Importance of Being Earnest from 1952. I had seen the 2002 remake before and liked it, so I dug up the first film to watch. Now, I want to word all my posts like how they talk in the movie... you know, proper and British and stuff. It's really an effort to type as I normally would right now.

Anyway, that's enough of a tangent. What movies have you recently seen and did you like them?

Last movie I saw in theaters was Kung Fu Panda 2. And it was awesome. Dreamworks seems to be finally not sucking recently. I enjoyed Megamind a lot, thinking I would hate it. And How to Train Your Dragon was real good too.

How to train your dragon is excellent.

X-men first class, very good. Possibly the best X-men film.

Legend of the Guardians. Also a really good animated film.

Suckerpunch. Great visually and a pretty god film overall.

Recently I've watched (or re-watched): The Maltese Falcon, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. Also caught Arsenic & Old Lace on TCM On-Demand, which I've seen many times but still really enjoy.

Currently watching ZOOLANDER on tv as I write this.

Will probably be watching The Big Sleep later today.

Commando and Midnight Meat Train. Both are relatively well done with respect to their genres.

Transformers 3 and The Adjustment Bureau. The former would have benefited greatly from the removal of the underwear model and associated angst and the latter is just a darn good movie that doesn't need anything removed.

I want to see Black Swan too, will do soon. Recently just saw THE NEXT THREE DAYS with Russell
Crowe, not bad except can't figure how they ever convicted his wife, and THE TOWN with
Ben Affleck, except can't figure how they didn't get convicted much earlier.

Also a warning: THE HUNTED with Tommy Lee Jones and Benecio del Toro. Goes OK until final
chase scene which is dumber than a bagful of hammers or door knobs or turnips or whatever.
Dumb, dumber, and dumbest! How did they talk Tommy and Benecio into that nonsense?

I've been watching loads of movies recently! ^_^

I've watched Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, The Elephant Man (Yeah, I've been working my way through all the David Lynch films), An Education, Carrie and the Dollars Triology (Well, I didn't actually get round to watch The Good, The Bad and The Ugly)

Blue Velvet was incredibly disturbing but suspenseful and a damn good film, went up there on my favourites list quite quickly.
I didn't enjoy Eraserhead, I found it dull, slow and uncomfortable to watch. Also, while it was very strange and confusing, it was nowhere near as strange as I'd built it up to be in my head, I wasn't overwhelmed.
The Elephant Man was so sad that I cried until my eyes stung. A very well done film, but too heartbreaking to be able to watch again.
An Education was beautifully shot and had all the components for a film that I would love but the main character irked me a little too much. She reminded me of someone who used to be my best friend in all the worst ways possible. I feel like I'd enjoy the film more on repeat viewings but for now I don't think I liked it.
Carrie was really goofy for the most part. I acknowledge it was made in the 70's but some aspects of it really haven't aged very well. It was genuinely scary when it wanted to be, and had a sympathetic protagonist, but too often ventured into the realms of the goofy. Overall, it was solid.
The Dollars Triology...A Fistful of Dollars was absolutely hilarious for all it's very silly expositional dialogue and bad dubbing, but was very well shot and still really enjoyable. For A Few Dollars More was a much better made film, also very enjoyable. Never really understood why Leone chose to cast Ramon's actor as a different person in this film though...Or for that matter why they cast Lee Van Cleef as the bad guy in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly which I didn't finish because I was tired, it was really jarring...

I like movies! :D

...Sorry, I wrote a mini essay here.

It's a really cool movie. If you like psychological thrillers then you will love this movie from start to finish. I watched it 3 times in a row. I also annoyed a lot of people because I couldn't shut up about how good it was.

Last night I sat through Be Cool for the first time and was disappointed. Seemed like they were trying too hard to be funny, cute and pay homage to Pulp Fiction with that awful dance scene. My memory of Get Shorty was so much better.
