A movie that I highly disliked upon watching, Shooter. Also didn't care for Scott Pilgrim, just didn't ring any bells with me in the first 10 minutes.

Edit 2013:
Scott Pilgrim was awesome.

Speaking of BLADE RUNNER, for sure a Ridley Scott visual masterpiece, but check out the
music, all by Vangelis and totally fabulous!

it is legitimately great and the people who disagree just want some bullshit based on the game's near-nonexistent story

it's a very good comedic sci-fi movie that's filled with references to the game, it's just not Fat Man Jumping On Turtles

i've always been a big fan of it, and i got weatherby to watch it, promising him that everything bad he heard about it was wrong. as we watched it i pointed out the cool small touches and allusions to the games in it, and now he's on board with me. we later hosted an online viewing of it, via youtube and AIM group chat, and everyone in the party liked it too.

so yes, if you have the right mindset and don't just go with the mass backlash that honestly should have died by now anyway, it's a very good film. the actors just hate it because it was reportedly an absolute nightmare to make, so that's regardless of the movie's actual quality.

There's a Girl in my Soup (1970)

Peter Sellers inventing the character Michale Meyers would reintroduce a generation later as Austin Powers and Goldie Hawn at her best. Good gravy a romantic comedy without a forced happy ending tacked onto the last fifteen minutes. Having only ever seen this on the TV 4:30 movie when growing up I never knew all the jokes and sexy stuff I was missing.

Gabrielle Drake. Yum.

There's probably a youtube video of that, assuming it didn't get taken down for animal abuse.

the only thing that sucks about Mario Movie is that the only dvd of it is pretty bad quality, and fullscreen with letterbox matting instead of real widescreen. i also doubt we'll ever see a blu-ray of it, which is a shame because the amount of detail in the set design is staggering

That could actually be said for a lot of films people love to bash. I just popped Dolph Lundgren's "Masters of the Universe" in the DVD player the other day to watch with my kids and you know what? Aside from the incredibly cringe inducing dialog delivery from Dolph himself when he said "I don't want innocent people to die!", the rest of the film is actually SOLID! Sure it's one of the worst adaptations ever made cause it doesn't solely focus on He-Man in Eternia, but once you set your mind to accept that fact, you're left with a very decent soundtrack, good special effects for that time and acting that ranges from decent to flat out spectacular!

I still can't believe my eyes everytime i go look at discussion threads about Jason Momoa's upcoming Conan film, where people go APESHIT over how bad it will be because Arnold's version was supposedly "better". REALLY??? From the same people that profusely shit on Dolph's He-man no less. Seriously, if we take a gander at Howard's books, Arnie's nothing like Conan should be. And if we take their beloved Conan: The Barbarian and remove James Earl Jones from it, i fail to see where that film could ever be considered "better" than Masters of the Universe. Not only that, but IMHO Frank Langela's Skeletor acted circles around JEJ's Thulsa Doom. Not to say i didn't enjoy Jones's performance in Conan, i've always been a fan of his obvious talents (especially in Best of the Best, oh and i'll always have a soft spot for his small role in Meteor Man *cue laugh track*). He also kicks ass in any naration he ever does, just like in the opening of Stallone's Judge Dredd and yeah... he's VADER!!! But IMHO, Frank outshined many critically acclaimed actors in MOTU.

I think the new Conan looks like ass too, but I was never a huge fan of the original either. I like low fantasy, I vastly prefer it to high, but the new movie doesn't seem to have anything that's recognizably Conan in it. EXPLOSIONS! directed by michael bay.

i would at least go see it if Conan was played by Conan O'Brien.

I personally don't see the new Conan being any better or worse than the original either. It's just what it is. I enjoyed the originals but i don't praise them as if they were gospel. And even though i'm not an affectionado of Howard's books either, i still know how he used to describe his character as being strong but as agile as a panther. And agile, Arnie was not. Momoa is definitely more agile and even though i wouldn't nominate him for an oscar, i think he's a way better actor than Arnold. So i'll be interested to see what it'll be but i'm not putting my hopes up. The trailers for it were pretty average IMO. At first glance i got a bit giddy over them (cause it's brand new) but after watching them for a while, they got old fast.

New conan, despite some reservations I'm looking forward to it. I hope to god it's no worse than clash of the titans.
