Just finished watching the Scott Pilgrim film. It's been days since I finished the comics, so they're fresh in my mind. Two things I will say about the adaptation - the crazy pace actually works in the film (as opposed say, to Watchmen, where it doesn't) and all things considered, they seem to have kept as much of the original idea in the film as they could. I found the deleted scenes revealing, especially the alternate ending.
THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST- The 3rd and final? of the very popular Swedish
movie series starring cutie Noomi Rapace and what's his name, (should look it up but too lazy). All the loose-ends get tied up in this finale, about 2 1/2 hours long. Unfortunately, the feed I saw was not HD which made ploughing thru the sub-titles a nightmare, especially when they are white and backdrop is also white, gads! In this one, poor Lisbeth is hospitalized and then jailed for most, so she can't get at her smokes, hurray! She's a strange girl but with her horror-movie past, no wonder eh? But it all comes out in the wash and everyone gets theirs, ha ha. Another 3 1/2 on the Moizmeter.
Which was hilarious and rubbish at the same time.
I have had this on my watchlist for a while...
...mainly for The Fish but...
GAWD i love that movie!!! I still say it's better than any Will Ferrel comedy even today, and that's coming from a huge fan of Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Blades of Glory, Step Brothers and Night at the Roxbury.
... what? What just happened?
Isn't that with Clooney? How was that btw?
No, the horrible remake had Clooney. I watched the 1974 original and...
... I don't even know.
The remake... such a dull movie. Never watched the original but don't waste any of your life on the remake.
Solaris based on a magnificent novel by Stanislaw Lem and one of the best SF movies of the era (late 1960s-early 1970s) indeed it's #68 on the top 100 world movies of all time. But this is the same era that brought us that other "WTF did I just watch?" SF movie 2001: A Space IdiocyOdyssey.
Pre-Star Wars SF can be hard to watch especially when it's supposed to be meaningful "hard" SF
You really want to be tortured try watching the previous great Russian SF movie Aelita: Queen of Mars (1924) Definitely not for any one who's ever seen any SF movie made after 1978.
