I like the more angry looking one. It seems to fit the site well.

The gold tooth is a nice touch.

if you're going to rotate the mascot image, why not have one from each of say, 5-10 artists? Same mascot, different art styles, rotate randomly. That'd be cool.

Normally I'd be all over this idea- but I have to ask; why? The logo works really well now and it already has variation to appease the attention deficit kids.

What benefit does introducing different styles actually have?

Don't get me wrong I would be the first person to redraw Ephem's amazing creation in the hope of getting my little taste of fury based glory but really what purpose does it serve?

Uhm.. the only thing I can think of is that it'd be interesting to see all the gator variations. Especially when the rotation is working properly.
Don't know what practical purpose it would have, but does it really need one? /shrugs

Feel free to shout me down but isn't a mascot/logo meant to create a definite identity for a site? wouldn't that be undermined by having a different style everytime you visit that site?

As an aside to that- if this was to go ahead who would decide which ones were used? Us as a community? Because that worked last time, didn't it? Or would it be left on Kyo's shoulders who, correct me if I'm wrong, commissioned you specifically to design this logo anyway.

I don't see the logic in this is all. Other than a little kudos for the artists that are picked I don't think it brings anything to the site.

You're very right, but because I neither own this website nor am particularly interested in it's business/marketing plans/strategy, I didn't take these things into account.

I wasn't around when all that logo fuss was happening, so I wasn't really taking that into account either. Yeah, I suppose I think more about what would be fun, rather than what would be practical.. /no business sense

But yeah, I agree that logically/practically it would be difficult slash not work.
