Comic description

The universe is out of balance. It's a regular celestial mess! And who better to charge with the task of cleaning it up than a lazy janitor with no direction in life?

So... a reboot then?

I kinda agree with you on the rainbow color palette. I once sprited one of my characters to look like Prismaya for Halloween a few years back. That was tough.

I was kinda hoping the current comic would at least go full circle to where the flashbacks began. We STILL don't know how Maya fared against the plant lady. How did they survive and did Canada buy dinner for the team?

I'd look foward to the new comic.

Hey everybody.

I never thought we'd come to this point, but I'm afraid it's become entirely necessary.

I am ending Prismatic Star as we know it.

That's right. The comic I have worked on for 5 years is ending and will not be continued as is.

HOWEVER - this is NOT the end of Prismatic Star.

There are a number of issues I take with the comic as it is. I've painted myself into a corner with regards to design elements AND the plot of Prismatic Star. These issues have become too glaring for me to ignore. I have tried to work around them in the most recent chapters, but it just isn't feasible for me to do and take my work seriously.

So I'm now in the process of reconceptualizing Prismatic Star.

It will still have the same cast of characters - but they will be better designed and better written. The lore will be significantly less confusing. I have already written the script for the first 20 pages and that alone was enough to convince me that this was the right move.

At this point, the new designs are merely concepts, and who knows what will change before the first page comes out, but my goal is to make characters that are less unnecessarily complicated to draw as well as instantly recognizable from their silhouettes. My goal as far as design is to condense and simplify and make more dynamic character interactions. Lots of details are nice, but they don't really suit the purpose of my story.

And yes, I'm ditching Prismaya's "signature" rainbow skin in favor of a more iridescent look, because working with a rainbow color palette is literally one of the biggest hassles I've ever had as an artist, especially recently.

There's alot more I want to talk about with regards to design, but I feel like if i get started I'll never stop, so I'll just leave it at that.

I hope to get the new comic started no later than February 2017. I will keep you updated as the time draws nearer! I'm still not sure what I'll do with regards to the comicfury site. I may leave it up and start with a new site, or I may simply archive these pages elsewhere. No matter what, prismaticstar.com and pstar.co will lead to the new comic when it comes out - even if I end up changing the name of the comic for version 2.

In the meantime, have a happy holidays and a Prismatic new year!

He's never around when you need him.

Are we gonna see her star staff manifest now? It looks like we are!
