A snarky, sarcastic, and precocious little girl growing up in a village of necromancers, liches, assassins, and the sort. What's the worst that could happen?

Heh, everybody in the comic had the same concern I had, aaaand The Master fooled us all.^^
I think I've mentioned it before, but in this 'verse, I like to think of magic as being a lot like radiation. Though without the cancer and instantly killing. But more like, too much of it can contaminate an area. For regular people, even for lower-ranked masters, it would take a rather long time to really affect an area. But the more powerful the magic, the quicker it happens.

Like Anna said, magic is them tapping into the background residue left over by the war of the gods. But if you tap into it too much, you throw things out of balance, leading to undesirable effects like those ghosts a few chapters back. So Deryn's concern is quite the valid one for sure.

Indeed, that would definitely be a sure-fire catalyst to make her want to focus on it if she weren't already thinking about it. At least, it would for sure make me want to.
Is...he about to do what I think he's about to do? O.O
Experimenting again with animations. I'm not sure if this will be a regular thing though. It might be, it might not be. I'm not entirely sure if it really adds a lot, or if it just comes off as gimmicky. Further experimentation is definitely warranted.

On the note of animation, it would actually be fun to try to turn the comic into an animation. Definitely tons of work though, and not something I am currently equipped to do. Especially since voice acting will definitely be a problem. Sure, I could do some of the male voices, but there is no way I'm going to be able to falsetto my voice to that of a twelve-year-old girl's. Maybe I should try doing some silent clips first, who knows.
