Comic description

Don't Keep the Devil Waiting is our take on the Five Nights at Freddy's timeline and lore. It's the story of a family (the Aftons) and how loss, corruption, and murder have shaped their lives. We upload once a week on Monday's.

We are a mother/daughter team who loves Five Nights at Freddy's so much that we just had to start a comic (if for no other reason than to figure out the lore, the timeline, and put our theories out into the world). Debra (mom) writer, layout, lettering, theorist. Lydia (daughter) comic artist, graphic designer, lore keeper, theorist.

This is a tough talk to have but an important one. Jen may not want to hear what Henry has to say, but Henry needs to know that Charlie will be taken care of.

This was a rough week, and although I thought I had really gotten a handle on it, I realized right before bedtime that I had failed to meet an important adult deadline, so I'm hoping I can fix that. GRRRR!! I hate adulting extra when I'm already having to super adult!

Anyway, I love this comic, and Lydia did a great job on Henry's office. Now, if you like comic dubs, and you like this comic, check out Part 2 of Dark Box's dub of our comic.

Thank you, Scott Cawthon, for putting out this amazing game with such deep lore. We, as fans, may not always agree on what it is you are trying to tell us, but we usually do agree that what you are trying to tell us is worth investing our time into thinking about. We truly appreciate all the work you've put into this story, and we only hope that our version does the lore justice.

Happy Anniversary to the game that starting it all! Five Nights at Freddy's will always hold a special place in our hearts, even when we are surrounded by whiteboards weighing the pros and cons of Michael's role in the game, how many children fell victim to the stink man, or what year Elizabeth died. We wish you the best for wherever life takes you.

New characters? Do you recognize them? Yes, we are adding the books in to the comic.

We did have to change the book timeline ever so slightly to fit it in, but if you read the first book and the last book, you might have realized that Scott and Kira altered the timeline as well because Charlie's birth year goes for 1978 in The Silver Eyes to 1980 in The Fourth Closet.

There are other alterations from the first book to the last, but that is the most obvious one. I honestly think that Scott realized he had messed up the timeline in having Henry commit suicide in 1985, instead of 1987, so spoilers, I guess.

There will be trigger warnings and content warnings coming up in the comic. They will be part of the title, so you can skip anything that makes you uncomfortable. I just want to warn you.

This is, however, a horror/thriller comic based on a horror game, so I hope you realized what you are getting into.

Anyway, if you've made it this far, congratulations! I have something special for you. The title is a reference to a song by David Bowie. (You may have realized that I use a lot of music for title ideas.) If you hover over the comic, you'll see the alt text, which also contains a line from Ashes to Ashes, and if you've read the books, you may just get a little chill. ;)

We have an announcement for those of you who are part of our Don't Keep the Devil Waiting amino, but I have to give you a Gore Warning: We have another challenge. The theme this time is springlock failure. You can find a link to the rules here.

Another announcement: The 4th anniversary of Five Nights at Freddy's is coming up on the 8th of this month, and we have picked a wonderful gift to celebrate this special event. So come back on Wednesday for a bonus comic. Thanks for being a part of this. We love you guys so much!

Right!? There's no way the crying child would be old enough to work an overnight job in 1987, if he was that young in 1983. You have to be at least 18. Thanks for the comments. We always look forward to them! :)
