Webcomic description

The world of Edos is changing. Mana is depleting, and none rely on it more than the elves of Isvaele. Anaerion Sunbough, a student at an illustrious magic academy, wanted nothing more than to assist in researching such a critical topic. The academy had other ideas. Much to his chagrin, they assigned him to escort an acolyte to a minor holy sight just beyond the borders of the city.

I'm shifty and useless, but you know, maybe this time I can actually accomplish something.

Well, I am super tired of being so late on this, so I will risk posting a beta pass. I'll have to look over it some more tomorrow, but I have work and should be sleeping. Was snail drawing my way across this page... it was just so many wolves! Wolves and effects! I got really tired of drawing wolves at one point, but even if they so inconsiderately did their group hug too late to miss that one fireball, there will be fewer of them for the next page.

Despite feeling utterly lethargic lately, I did have a nice trip picking berries in the local forest and losing a weekend to Pokémon Go fest. I make out decently, but alas still no Moltres. I did get a shiny Regigigas. If one of these wolves on the page is a shiny, it's probably that light colored one that showed up fashionably late.

Okay, think this might be good enough. I had to start coloring to stop myself from adding more plants to the full page illustration. Been awhile since I did one like this, establishing shots get bogged down. I also had to take several days off to work on my father's day picture. Not relevant to this site, but I did eek it in on time, but it really got me out of the headspace to do the background.

I hope this wolfie doesn't look like an overgrown cuddly doggo. I spent extra time on trying to make it mean. Now to see if one fireball is enough for it.

Also, this is most of the bleeds for this page, I went a bit overboard and drew out double bleed, in case I wanted to shift some things later, but maybe it could work for a banner too.

Hey, thanks! That is a good comparison. Yeah, given how stressing Rosalie out caused Ash to faint, I think it's fair for that to be a bit rude. His reaction was strong compared to others with familiars, but since they have an empathetic and sensory link, it's understandable. Plus, he only bonded with her recently as a first year. He needs to adjust, although I don't see him being okay with getting vicariously petted through his familiar. That would be awkward. Altarie would like to pet the fox, so it's important he learned why he can't!

I like the idea of a familiar as more of an investment. Admittedly in the 5e campaign I'm currently in, I've certainly benefited from the disposability of familiars, since I think mine's been killed like three or four times already, and all I need to do is resummon it.

I love the idea of grabbing someone's familiar being rude; if it's a literally extension of the owner, then it's getting in someone's space without their permission. Never a good thing! Also reminds me a little of daemons in "His Dark Materials" and how touching someone else's Daemon is very rude or even painful!
