It's too bad if you were actually enjoying the idea that it was recognizable and that it impacted the interactions with some people.

For some games, my friends and I go on details during characters' creation, but it's in contemporary games that it became really a huge deal.
For exemple, I made up a mystery invitation for a masked ball for Valentine day in high society of San Francisco at the start of the session, and then I had my players using every off-time of their characters to go on their phones to choose their masks and gowns. xD
