Webcomic description

Fairly self-explanatory. I like to talk a lot, and now I'm talking in image form.

But seriously, not really a webcomic. If it updates (updates come with inspiration to ramble and only then), you'll get some lovely words to read, but don't expect anything else.

I've gone by many names online and have been a veteran in communities for over nine years, now, but here I am to stay.

Originally, I came here because I used Flikr, with the same name before a slight change. It's where I normally had my webcomics. It was adequate for my needs at the time, but it has certain restrictions. Having 4 (at the time) webcomics, I thought it best to try and expand to other sites.

I do my webcomics purely for my own enjoyment, so I don't care about how low the quality is (mostly). I don't mind if people don't like it. But, hey, if others can learn to enjoy it, that'd certainly make me one happy writer. :)

Also, yes. I am THE Ranger. Living legend. Effectively a grandmother of CF.

(Current project: Red Hood Rider.)

Not offended at all. Sounds as if life appears to be "more than the sum of its parts" to you. ;-)

I wrote this ramble down on paper on 6/4/13--June 4th, 2013. However, the inspiration to type it up came from some posts in the Venting Thread--specifically, my reply to Nightsky (and also Buzzard's awesome reply), and my reply to Sivrus, along with the follow-through.

For the most part, what you see is directly transferred from the paper, but there are some bits which are obviously taken from my posts there, to help enhance the ramble. Anyway, happy reading! Hope you enjoyed my take on religion, and please don't be offended by it.

Random fact not directly related to the ramble--I still sorta associate myself with being a god. But if someone asked me if I thought I was one, the answer would be "Nobutyes". Why?

When it comes to here, *points to everything around me*, I know better than to think myself a god. I'm mortal. I'm human. I don't have the hubris to think that I am a god. I am a frail, fragile being who could easily die at any moment. I might be an INFLUENTIAL human, but I am just that--human. I am not divine in any matter at all.

When it comes to here, *points to my brain*, ohhhhhhh, yes. I am a god. In the physical world I occupate, I am just a man. But in my own mental domain, I can control everything. In the flow of a story, I dictate what ultimately happens. I see the characters I create as people, and as their creator, I am their god. They have free will of their own, and feel like real people...but I can still influence them, subtly directing them.

In other words, in my own mental domain, I do exactly what I talk about in this ramble. The characters have the power of choice. That's theirs and theirs alone. They have minds of their own, a Fate to choose, a fate that they dictate. But as the person telling the story, I still know what WILL happen. They have choices, but I know which one they'll actually pick. That's because I control their ultimate Destinies, as their own god.

Which kinda reminds me, I've got plans to maybe write a sixth ramble, tied into this fourth ramble, that deals with the subject of the universe. I won't spoil anything, but basically, my take on the universe is that it's quite similar to a video game. Think of your choices as being actions you can take as a player, and of God being the one who created the game and dictates the fundamentals of the world along with what your choices actually do.

Welcome to my fourth Ramble, brand new material for everyone to read.

"Four? What happened to three?!?"

Well, three isn't exactly up to my standards; I want to do some research and pad it out. (And, in fact, have considered merging it with my fifth ramble, which covers a similar subject to the third.)

So, for the moment, I'm skipping to four. Three will be edited into the archive eventually (if it's not merged with five), and I'll announce as much.

And, yeah, I realize I could debate aspects of religion until the end of time. People have spent their entire lives studying religion, both specific religions and religion in general. I don't have that much time to devote to the subject, so what you see is largely my own personal take on things, without having done my homework.

Basically, while there's a lot more to religions than God, The Afterlife, and Destiny, those were the ones I wanted to elaborate on. (Another aspect of religion, hope, got worked in subtly as well. Hope is a critical aspect of nearly every religion, and how it reflects the bad and good in the world. But again, not my main focus.)

And, yeah. Feel free to give me a better term than 'atheist' to use. Probably won't edit the ramble to use it, but I'll use that new term (if it's easy to learn :P) from now-on, since most people too strongly associate atheist = no god.
