In the near future, this will become a real disorder where only a little rectangle will be in focus in your entire field of vision. Optometrists will call it “phone-sightedness” and the only cure for the debilitating condition will be to stop using your phone for a while.

There will never be a single case of it ever being cured.

I'm just suggesting, maybe the Mafia aren't really murderous gangsters, they're militant environmentalists.

But at least robot overlords wouldn't lie through their teeth just to get elected. When they promise to eliminate waste, fraud, and humans, they MEAN it.

(Tellingly and disturbingly, I couldn't remember who Hillary Clinton's VP was, and had to ask Google.)

There's also the Rømer scale which is based on the freezing and boiling points of water being 7.5 degrees and 60 degrees, the Réaumur scale which is based on the freezing and boiling points of water being 0 and 80 degrees, and the Rankine scale which is an absolute scale of thermodynamic temperature. And that's just the R's.

At this rate, if every scientist gets something named after them, then students who have to learn about all of them will get turned off by science and we won't have any more scientists. Problem solved, I guess...
