Kyo:for comic comments, and stuff, we have your updates. I've thought about this before but I've always been kind of reluctant to add something like this, because I don't want the CF emails to get blacklisted as spam.

That's not to say I won't add it but this is the reason it hasn't been added so far. I think it will probably be added at some point but right now I'm doing some major backend work so I'm kind of refraining from doing anything other than bugfixes at the moment.

OK, thanks for the response. Keep up the great work, I'm sure everybody with a comic here (regardless of if they're active or not...) appreciates how much time and effort you put into this.

PS: Y'see, this is what I was talking about! I completely forgot about this thread until now! xD

I was just wondering if it would be possible for email updates to subscribed forum posts and/or PMs to be implemented into ComicFury. I've been chatting back and forth with another user via PM and often my replies are anything from days to weeks after I receive a reply. This'd be because CF isn't my homepage, and even if it was, I have Firefox (and COMODO Dragon) to open my tabs from last time. However, I get emails on my phone all the time, so a feature like this would allow me to make prompt replies.

If this can't be added to the code for whatever reason (ie it'd be too complicated) I understand, just saying it would be a great feature for the site itself and allow users to better keep in contact with one another (I'm thinking crossovers and comics with a separate author/artist would greatly benefit from this).

I friggin' love this site.

Seriously. You were all part of the joke that was my threaten-to-rage thread. Yes, I am a furry, but of course a large community like ComicFury wouldn't take to an out-of-nowhere shift to cater to one specific group.

I had good laughs reading this thread (or, at least, the parts that dealt with the April Fool's joke, not, you know, the other thing).

Also, holy crap was Lunaris Victoria's "I HAS A DREAM" speech ever long! I tried to read the whole thing, but my mind just shut down after the first half. I had to resort to skimming and looking at other posts to get the rest of it! (And why would you go to hell for it, I'm Christian and find nothing wrong with it.)

Bravo, Kyo, overall it was very convincing, but what tipped me off was that everyone had similar avatars. Of course you wouldn't force everyone to use those when our own work perfectly fine.

PS: Muahahahaha! I made the OP! >:D

PPS: Mr Capps'
fools i am doing a public service.
reminded me of Excalibur from Soul Eater. OT, but still.

Holy crap I didn't expect this thread would take off like that... XD

Glad to see everybody's enjoying the new change.

PS: BTW Mr. Capps I am in fact male. Just pointing that out 'cause earlier you said "the OP" and "she" in the same sentence. ;)

So, I just logged into Comic Fury so I could check out my Subscriptions and subscribe to their individual RSS feeds after my new browser installation (Comodo Dragon if you must know)... to learn that Comic Fury is gone, and ComicFurAffinity is here. While I have still yet to check out my "Furscriptions", I have been browsing around the site. Yes, I know it's still in a transition stage, and I'm a little wary because April Fool's is just around the corner (or maybe it actually is April 1st already in some parts of the world). And I just wanted to say, while I haven't exactly been waiting for this to happen, I'm pleasantly surprised. If this is indeed real (and so help me Kyo if you're jerking my chain) then furries are one more step to taking over the 'net. I myself have been a furry since... well, a long time, and I find myself almost solely reading furry webcomics. TwoKinds, Housepets!, Shades of Gray, Dissonance, Freefall, DMFA, Project Future, 21st Century Fox, CTC, Faulty Logic... and those are just the ones in my Bookmarks Bar that I remember without having to check out my Firefox installation.

What are your thoughts on this? If this is indeed an unfortunate joke, then oh well. But if it's forealz, then are you joyous, surprised (pleasantly or unpleasantly), indifferent, or will you rage quit Comic Fury?

PS: The new "avatars" are a joke, or at least mine is. Please let this be a placeholder until the site's undergone full transformation...

PSS: I'm serious, if this is all some joke, I will be very, very disappoint.

The default cursor for the (modified) Cold layout I have is just a cross, which, IMO, just looks silly. I much prefer the standard/traditional hand. How can I do this? Is it in the HTML or CSS?

Thanks for the help!

*shudders*

On topic, that is indeed cool, though I was always under the impression that "IPv6 is bad, you don't need it, don't even enable it". I guess I know why now, thanks to your (Kyo's) very in-depth (sort of) explanation.

I got it to work by following Doomy's visual cues. I pasted the code then edited it to match up with my banner, and now it works! :D

PS: Anyone know how to change which cursor is shown when you hover over things? Cold's default is the "move" cursor, which just looks plain stupid in IE(9) with the current theme (OS X Lion) I have on Windows. On second thought, it looked odd to begin with. I'm pretty sure that is in the CSS.

should work

e: stick that wherever you want your banner in your html

ee: reading your HTML/CSS, am I right in assuming you actually have your banner being set by an element background? Generally, you put any content you want - links, banners, banners with links - into your html and then modify its design in the css. so html is the way to go for making banner links :D

Umm... I'm having trouble reading the HTML, so should I just post it here, or can you recommend the typical place to put such a link?

Normally, I'd be able to do this just fine. I've been a part of enough forums and message boards that I know some basic HTML (and BBCode, but that's irrelevant ATM). But, since my CSS has the banner link in it, I just assumed I'd be able to put the link in there.

This is what I use for my custom banner in the CSS:
#header {<br />
background: url(&quot;http://unrealcircumstances.thecomicseries.com/files/unc_banner.png&quot;) top no-repeat;<br />
height: 220px;<br />
text-align: center;<br />
margin-top: 20px;

It was in there from the beginning with the template that I used (cold) - obviously with a different URL - so I just assumed that that's where I should put it.

Hi, I'm trying (and failing miserably) to figure out how to make my banner on my site link to the main page, as in order to get back to the main page, you currently have to click on a bookmark (pain), edit the URL (bigger pain), or hit the back button X number of times (perhaps biggest pain).
For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to add in the HTML or CSS, though I'd imagine it'd be something simple, like putting url("http://unrealcircumstances.thecomicseries.com/"); in the CSS. Alas, it is not so.
Halp?

There is only one page so far...

...Yeah, I figured I'd make it 2. So, now the lazy people can skip the entire first page! :O

MLai:I don't use Facebook, because I don't feel like keeping up with it. It sounds like a lot of commitment.

To my understanding, Facebook is basically like a forum (with bells n' whistles)... except instead of you posting/reading about stuff you're interested in with like-minded strangers, you post/read about random daily stuff you couldn't care less about with acquaintances and acquaintances of acquaintances.

Do I have that right?

Basically.

I have people messaging me all the time, when I'm never on. Then I (sort of) feel bad because they may have wanted to start a meaningful conversation with me, but I don't feel right replying days, sometimes weeks afterwards. And I also forget people's birthdays a lot, but when Facebook reminds me, I often ignore it.

Anyways, I do frequent more than just this forum (though the term "frequent" is loosely used here).
The main ones are Ubuntu Forums and Tom's Guide, sort of a Q&A tech support forum. I only usually go on those sites when I need help with something, though.

I dunno, I kinda like the dinosaur (that's in the logo right now), but I also like the Frenchman snapping the pencil (the newest/cleaner version, without the cloud).

Stay tuned for the first comic page! Once I actually get off my lazy arse - and stop playing Mass Effect for most of the day - it should be uploaded!

In the midst of setting up my site, I ran into a roadblock:

I have a dark background for the content portion of my layout. However, I also have black/dark-coloured text. And, for the life of me, I can't find where in the CSS/HTML the hex code for the text colour is.

Here's my site: Unreal Circumstances

If need be, I'll post the CSS file. I got part of the text to be white, but not the body, the part that matters.

Also: my site's not complete, but you can see what I mean right off the bat.

Kyo:I was kinda hoping you'd change it a bit to make it more artsy themed or whatever, since a lot of people suggested that.

I kind of figured everyone was aboard the gator train so I didn't bother, but here's some changes:

I also thought about just giving the plain dino a halftone texture and changing his skin to a red/white/blue picasso style painting.

Oh please no Picasso.

I hate that guy. His stuff creeps me out.
