For some reason I had the urge to draw Hannah as a mermaid

I think it turned out pretty well

Microraptor:For my own example, I had the choice a just finished (and thus quite spoilerish) page, and the newly started page.

a few hours ago I realized that my example shows off the lineart for my next strip in its entirety in the navigator

thankfully it's small enough that nobody can actually tell what's really going on

"Show Off Your Art Program Config!", Yesterday, 10:10 AM #4

I'm like 90% sure this thread's been done to death, buuuuuuuuuuut I specifically remember the "Show Off Your Desktop" thread from a few months back and suddenly thought "Well, people customize their art programs depending on their workflow, why not show that off?"

So I ask of you, ComicFury, if you do digital art, what does your program setup look like?

Mine looks a li'l something something like this:

(Oh yeah I should probably explain all this, it was late when I originally posted this thread and I couldn't think)
I'm more or less using the default CSP layout, I think the biggest difference is that I've popped the Sub View out into its own window because keeping it at the top of the right column with the Navigator made it really tiny. I've also rearranged the top toolbar a bit, taking out or moving some stuff that was more annoying than useful, and adding the Duplicate Layer, Horizontal Flip, and Pick Screen Color icons (Horizontal Flip and Pick Screen Color in particular are super valuable to have up there). I've also made a handful of custom brushes (which are almost all stuff I took from Sketchbook) and I've created individual color palates for all 13 of my main cast members (and Anna, mostly for OCT purposes).

Rocket Llama:re:Hair omg does anybody know how to draw a side shave, I cannot friggin' figure it out

when there's like - that aesthetic puff of bangs that frames the face from one side... but then it would obscure the face from the other side if you were accurate and consistent. Or it would technically cover an eye from the front the way you draw it from that one attractive angle, and you don't want it to cover an eye

the day I figure this out is the day I launch a decent version of Raleigh's Hinterland

Oh god yeah, I get that. It's mostly for my supporters, since I don't have the muscle memory for them like I have for, say, Lissa or Alex, but like, I basically need a ref open whenever I'm drawing, like, Sage's hair or Kaiden's mowhawky bit because there's a very exact nature to them.

Hell, even with Lissa sometimes I gotta reorient myself as to whether her neutral front-facing view curves her ponytail to the left or to the right (for the record, my most recent drawings of her curve it over to the right, but it has a sneaky habit of switching sides sometimes).

Y'know, for as long as I've touted Lissa as being a certified buffgirl, I think next week's strip is the first time I'm actually showing her playing a sport

And I don't think it's what anybody would expect it to be

Oh god same, I don't think I've ever drawn more in a year than I did last year. I also wouldn't have improved nearly as much as I did had I not joined CF.

I had a massive breakthrough for Arc 9's plot last night, finally being able to fully connect (and, who knows, possibly resolve) a few major unresolved elements of Arc 8 (like, uh, a very specific relationship). Shit's gonna be juicy...

Well clearly there isn't enough hand sanitizer, the tables should be covered in it. Only then will we be truly clean.

This week on David: A Webcomic: Arc 8 still haunts Tiny David.

I'm realizing that my Blind Date Exchange is gonna be the first time I'm acknowledging in-universe that D:AW takes place in Washington State.

...which is something I myself only realized about ten months ago.
