LOL!! Oh man!!! Okay even before I followed the link I read those lines in the tune of that song hahaha! Brilliant!
Aw man this is great you totally made my day with this <333
Thank you SOOOOOO much!!! I think this is Daggot's true calling hahaha X"D
Someone, if they are getting constant low ratings and there is no reason to believe it's out of spite or jealousy, could always make a thread in the critique forums seeking constructive advice on how to improve---I know a lot of artists who are happy to share resources on things such as anatomy, panel layouts, tutorials etc etc!
That could work! Because as it is right now, having the eyes partly covered by the shorts I think is the main thing that distracts me. But...I still think there could be a more organic way to get that character and expression without just drawing a straight up face haha
It's a fun concept/design to work with for sure!
Oh snap! Suspenders maybe? That way you get those buttons AND a reason for those lines! :O
Okay I'm gonna throw an opinion out there and if you like it, great...if not you can toss it right back X"D...
But, while I do agree that the redesign makes the bunny more visible which is GOOD.....III feel like it is almost TOO visible now and it actually distracts me when the cat side is up. I just find myself thinking "why does the cat have an upside down face on his shirt?"
So... to somehow try to make each design stand on their own without being too separate from each other is the best thing.
Here's an example of what I mean! But play around with it cuz there's things u can tweak here and there to make it more obvious!
I like your idea for the wood texture, and I think Tibbittz idea to make the stars eyes is awesome because it goes along with your concept! seeing stars is a classic cartoon feature when they get bonked on the head and stuff! Anyways just trying to help! Hope this does that! Help, I mean X"D. If I were you, I'd tweak the legs/ears a little bit to look a liiiittle more like ears on the bunny side :). Not too much, just a little more. Maybe make that green button red instead of green...easier to see it as a nose that way :P
Wow congratulations on the 1000 pages and the anniversary! That's some awesome dedication! and a LOT of pages drawn in 4 years!
Haha let's see in November it will have been 6 years since I started "Serpents of Old"
(Lol I did the math and that's about 288 weeks and I have 285 pages so that so with weekly updates that's about right! Only a few missed updates in all that time!)
Next page milestone I'm looking for is 300..
I've mainly only celebrated sub milestones and my next one is 12 away! I'll probably do what I did last time and do headshot requests again because that made people pretty happy! And made ME happy haha.
At this rate I miiight be celebrating the page and sub milestone around the same time--we'll see x"D
Omg yes this is one of my favorite relationship types for sure! I've loved it ever since I was a kid haha
My favorite has to be Aang and Zuko from Avatar; the Last Airbender!
Haha since season one I was rooting for them to be friends and after a series antagonism and tense relations, finally having them work together and become friends in the last season to achieve the ultimate goal was the best thing ever :P
It DEFINITELY works best when both characters are good characters!
But also-- most of the artists I chat with-- I really enjoy their work-- SO we have some common ground there (because they like their work too!) One of my artists friends printed her comic and we started chatting over printers, where we get our merch etc. We actually traded our printed comics.
AgentFink pretty much said everything I wanted to say! When I first joined I was way too shy to ever participate in the forums (for at least a year haha)....but I met a lot of cool people just by commenting on other comics I enjoyed. You can really feel a person out that way. I've also drawn fan art for the comics I really like when I get the feeling, based on their comment replies, that the author would even care or appreciate such a thing haha and that is another great foot in the door to start a conversation.
I feel like my writing and my art has really benefited from befriending and interacting with my peers all at various skill levels--- everyone brings something different to the table that inspires me. And learning and growing together with other like-minded people... its just the best thing ever.
All around just try to be an active and pleasant person! Active as in comment on works you enjoy, post your art in the forums, participate in community events as mentioned before. And pleasant pretty much goes without saying--- if you want friends you should be friendly. You know..be nice and so forth XD.
Between AgentFink and Damatris tho you have some pretty solid advice!!
