Joshystar:After the jetpack wish went like that, I wish for a COPTERpack instead! xD

Granted, but every time you fly a monarch butterfly dies caught in the rotors.

I wish I didn't have this wish.

Reapeageddon:Which of your characters could bake a scrumptious apple pie?

That'd be most likely Wilbur, and perhaps Bill.

Which of your characters is most likely to start the year with a get-rich scheme?

At some point in the interval, you died. You're suddenly in a coffin, except since you didn't experience death, your soul is bound in your decomposing, buried body forevermore.

I want to be the best pokemon trainer, the best that ever was.

Sounds like a tragedy waiting to happen. Even when all participants had their work copyrighted and were in a legal position to demand their share, it's the kind of situations that sets red flags.

mightguy15:I was just about to state this. I know you're joking, but it's actually scary how accurate this is, with a lot of my favorite artist (PlaugeofGripes, Hidetaka Miyazaki, myself even all experiencing pretty screwed up childhoods) falling into this category.

Alas, just "tortured soul" won't do... there's a very specific "Goldilocks Zone" of torture that will actually produce an artist. Too little and they'll be content with their lives, too much and you turn them into basket cases.

In all fairness, I probably look better than I have looked in all my life (it took years of exercise and modifying my eating habits)... granted, there's no gym for my hideous teeth and I'm still overall a waste of air, but at least a not-bad-looking waste of air.

I have enough friends in the US within drafting age to feel just as ill at ease.

Let's hope the worst-case scenario doesn't happen.

The Letter M:It's such a huge industry in Japan

Big or not, it's an industry that's no longer sustainable and it has to either change or fall (same as the western AAA videogame industry, which should have crashed several years ago).

In addition, part of their culture or not, right now it's an industry Japan's moral guardians (government included) are currently at war with. Like the rest of the world, Japan is currently going through a moral panic, but over there it's still in full throttle. There's quite a lot of people that would dance on the industry's grave if it was to fall tomorrow.

The Letter M:Anime is collapsing? What's this?

On the front end of the business, there are no more young animators, and there are no more young animators because no one in their right mind would want to work in animation. Work conditions for the average Japanese animator makes American animator jobs look like nirvana: perpetual crunch mode and wages that make a burger flipper count their blessings.

On the back end, the studios became wretched dens of scum and villainy. Even back in the 90s, episodes were already animated the same week they were broadcasted, and the moment a series' rating went down even just a little, they instead commissioned the next three episodes to (even cheaper) Korean studios (and thus, the in-house burger flipper animators didn't get to eat that month)... but this century things got even worse and more blatant, Gainax tax evasion scandals and the fallout with Hideaki Anno are just the tip of the iceberg, all other high-profile studios do similar things on a regular basis and that's why veterans have predicted the industry is due for an imminent crash, and that the future of anime is in Korea, not Japan. The only people who work as animators are people truly driven by a burning passion for the medium, a passion that is exploited/taken advantage of by greedy, horrible capitalists... the fact there's no more suckers taking the bait says a lot about the state of affairs over there, the studios have finally burned all their bridges, and in a face-saving based culture like Japan's, that's as good as signing your own epitaph.

I can't say that I welcome our Korean weeb Overlords, but seemingly that's where we're headed, and given how Korea only exists with China's permission, this is pretty much the end of all anime with social commentary or that otherwise makes you think.

The Letter M:Do people consider the new She-ra cal art style? I really like that look but the limbs are a bit noodly.

It's CalArts influenced/inspired, but I don't think it's full-blown CalArts.

For better or worse, the CalArts trend probably still has from two to five more years in it, at the very least. I don't mind it as long as either the storytelling is good or they make me laugh my ass off. For any fancier cravings there's always anime (at least before Japan's anime industry finishes collapsing).

That'd probably be Kobort, music is one of the many things he loves.

Which of your characters is more likely to end up cooling in a cell after New Year's party?

Firefly Jelly:Which of your characters would spend the most time at a well-curated art museum?

That'd most likely be Kobort, he likes exposing himself to different things.

Which of your characters is most likely to do re-gifting this Christmas?

Refer to my signature below for the comic and quick sales pitch. "Sunday Funnies" on Mondays to help you kickstart your week. Geek humor. Potentially caustic. Here's a sample (spoilered for size):

Considering times are only going to get worse, I fully expect to look back and think fondly "Oh, remember when the US' concentration camps weren't extermination camps, when my country's capital still had running water, and the free internet still existed and life didn't full-on imitate Star Wars? Good times."

Oh well...

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Am I the only one with this problem? It's been two weeks since the queue publishes a comic 1 head ahead of schedule.
