Got the first 10-12 scripts for the next Alvery chapter after the Summer Vacation ends Labor Day weekend. Got some fun new characters to introduce...

Also finished the scripts for the NSFW Zine!

Got an actual French girl right here! Alvery Nerveaux was born in Paris, even! Well, her dad is actually French-Canadian, but close enough.

Or, if you prefer, Mildreth Vincent, a bibliophile vampire!

Click the sig banners for way more refs, since each is the main character in their comic. Repost if you like!

lirvilas:COVID: Guess what! You’re having a nightmare about missing class and missing exams and ha ha ha you’re back in high schooooool!

COVID: Also, here’s a bunch of examples of a comic you should do set in a high school. Ha ha ha they’re REALLY funny! Seriously, you should draw these!

Me: GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN

Meh, it'll still be better than Funky Winkerbean. Which technically hasn't been about high school kids, but rather about aging late-Boomer douchebags, for at least the last thirty years.

But seriously, get well soon, man. You've got this.

Put me down as "tentatively scheduled" unless my commission artist is too busy to get anything done by then.

R.J Clark:The only comics I can really think of that were bad from the very beginning are like, just absolutely F-tier. Real bottom of the barrel. Stuff like Faithmouse, Billy the Heretic or Easy Breather. It's a waste of time to read anything like that, because the terribleness of it all is so predictable. Then there's "so bad it's good" stuff like Ebola Files, Raine Dog and Sonichu.

Easy Breather...there’s a comic I’ve not heard about in a long, long time... /Obi-Wan

Man, THAT mess. All the preachiness of Captain Planet, with none of the “so bad it’s good” elements. Anti-smoking with a side of extremely creepy oddly-placed nudity. I’ve never smoked in my life, nor wanted to, but that thing made me want to start a three pack a day habit out of sheer spite.

I lucked out. My high school was brand spankin' new my freshman year, so NOBODY knew where they were going. Not even the Seniors. HA!

Just a little something from a 40-something person: You know how some people say "You'll look back on your high school years as some of the best of your life" when you're a teenager? BEE FUGGIN ESSS!! I couldn't wait to get out of that shithole, and I've blocked most of my time there from my memory.

Now, the summer vacations and after school? NOW we're talkin'. Nothing but an endless parade of long walks, buying books and magazines at the local drugstore (back when places like Walgreens had a WHOLE FUCKIN' AISLE dedicated to that stuff, before the Corporate Masters decided they wanted us all to be illiterate slugs because 'MURICA), Slurpees, sports cards, Strat-O-Matic baseball, all the good stuff in life that you never forget.

Chapter One of Alvery, "Doctor Zo" had thinly veiled parodies of Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Mehmet Oz, called Harprah Windfall and Dr. Meme Zo.

Zo, an android, was of course the villain. He was thwarted in his attempt to help Ardrienne conquer the world through quack remedies. No updates as to his whereabouts since, but he's rumoured to be considering running for Senate in Pennsylvania despite residing in New Jersey.

Stop screwing my dude Decker Shado over. Let the man make his stuff, enough of the bogus copyright strikes, complaints about fake movie kills being too realistic, etc. Same with Brandon Tenold, to a much lesser extent. Seems big name content providers can practically get away with murder, but mid-level guys like those two, or god forbid, even smaller audience guys, can't do shit without YouTube jumping on their asses.

Also, improve the algorithm when saying you have videos with certain content. Dogs are not otters, ferrets are not cats, etc. And maybe auto translate. I've been wanting this one Japanese channel to have English subtitles for years, but nothing going so far. I just wanna know why the people have a penguin and a kangaroo! Is that too much to ask? XD

Can we have the option to pick more than one art style on the comic profile/info page? There's a lot of hybrid styles out there that can't really be defined with one catch-all type.

Ah, the days of Netscape, Goto.com, Yahoo being a big deal, etc. I miss the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 forums from back when it was on the Sci-Fi Channel (before it became SyFy, which I mockingly refer to as "Siffy"). I met a lot of good people on there.

Does Angelfire even still exist? I had a site on there, like everybody else.

Waifus? Not normally my thing, except maybe for Yomiko Readman. And she's canonically at least 25, so it's all good.

Factoid not a lot of people know, which will no doubt harsh a few crush buzzes: Velma and Daphne? Underage. According to the the original series character bios, 16 and 17, respectively. This is not always the same across all Scooby Doo incarnations, but yeaahhhh....ugh.

The pronunciation is more like "Joo-lye th' twunny-fifft, Two thousin n' twunny-two" (at least according to my version of the Southwest Indiana dialect, which varies by county, practically).
