I can't even link my smackjeeves site with out it just being a number link...
I will keep it as a mirror but it will just get buried like my mirror in Tapas. You just can't promote it well in a site like that....
I have been here for a while. I hope CF stays the same for a very long time.
Sites that could be used as hosting sites: tumblr, deviantart, patreon etc..
Mainstream social media sites: facebook, twitter etc..
From what I read speculations how bad losing NN can be:
Will you have to pay for access? What if...
You: Have to pay extra to access and post to your sites. You have to pay a lot more to maintain all your mirrors.
Your audience: Has to pay extra to access your sites or site. With many users choosing to only pay for social media sites, you will significantly lose readership.
Will you have to pay for better access? What if…
You: Have to pay extra to get a decent speed at your sites.
Your audience: Has to pay extra to get a decent speed your sites or site. If anyone remembers reading webcomics in the late 90’s early 2000’s it SUCKED waiting for each page to load. This will mean a big lose in readership and perhaps the entire webcomic sharing format will change (downloading pdfs? A return to more zines and paper sales?)
Will only the biggest sites survive?
Perhaps smaller sites like Smackjeeves, theduck, tapas, Comicfury and personal sites will go down and webcomics will be hosted at bigger picture sharing sites like deviantart or facebook?
There is a children's book called Demon Eater. Lucky the title was for only one book and not a series. There was a webcomic at smackjeeves that had Demon Eater in the title along the lines of ...Cray the Demon Eater? That comic only lasted a few pages then was abandoned. There was/is a rap/Christian band by the name Demon Eater.
To settle the issue with those similarities the full title of my comic is Saturno the Demon Eater.
There was this webcomic I knew on Drunk Duck by the name Paranormal Activity. It was a comedy about a fabulous cross-dressing detective. Well then the horror movies came out and boy did that frustrate the creator.
Demonicplant:I'm not sure why but recently, even though my comic is my pride and joy and for a while it was the only thing making me happy, I feel ashamed of it.
Like I don't want to show it off and I feel very self concious about it.
Why is it that the thing that is keeping me happy is making me feel such shame.
Why have I become humiliated by this?
Do you guys ever feel like this?
How do I fix this feeling?
I'm like really feeling it now cause I'm going through an entire talk scene with Alpha(naked, headless leader of the Human Club.) Every page she appears in is adult rated.
I've considered completely taking a promotion break until the scene has passed.
I am going to Anime Iowa in July. Actually decided not to sell due to wanting to spend more time with my cousin whom is going to a convention for the first time. I'll still spend a lot of time in Artist Alley talking it up with artists. Still in the works making my webcomic panel.
I got a Dealer's Den table for Furmigration in September. It's a newer furry convention in Minneapolis.
I’m in the process of finishing up the 2nd Edition 1st Volume of Demon Eater and I have an advertisement opportunity for you. You can help sponsor the printing costs of Demon Eater by buying ad space inside the book. With every book printed of this edition your ad will be there. I will be selling my books at Furry, Comic and Anime Conventions all over the United States for at least the next 5 years. I will be selling more ads for the next volumes of DE, but just to let you know the first volume of a comic is normally what sells the most in its series. Help me help you.
I am printing two versions, a black and white and a colored version. There will be several pages of redraws. Some of the art such as the chapter covers will be different in the black and white version vs the color. The advantage of the black and white version is that the book will be sold for half the price as the colored versions so there may be more buyers.
To buy a half page ad in the black and white book the cost will $30.
To buy a half page ad in the colored version the cost will be $30.
To buy a half page ad in both the cost is $50. You can have different graphics for the color and black and white version.
It is possible to buy a full page ad. The cost will be $60 for color or black and white book.
Another deal I am adding is that you will be able to additionally purchase the book/s at base cost + shipping (price pending).
Demon Eater vol 1 features talking creatures with some scifi biology elements. Recommended ads be centered around cartoon creatures, monsters, and scifi/horror webcomics/art. Since Demon Eater is a NSFW webcomic, your ad can be for NSFW art/products/webcomics, but… I am avoiding pure pornography. I also recommend that the business/website you are advertising will still be around for at least 5 years. I reserve the right to disapprove any ad I do not feel comfortable with.
Half page ad should be in TIFF format, 300 dpi, 2307 x 1489 pix. Leave bleed margins(keep writing in) at 38pix at top and bottom and 90pix right and left side. Even if the webcomic or site advertised is NSFW keep the art in the ad pg13.
Deadline to submit ads is June 9th 2016. Contact me through my email at Jillyfoo@gmail.com. Put “advertising DE” in the subject. Give me a link to what you are advertising and let me reply back giving you the approval to pay and submit your ad TIFF. The book is planned to be complete by late June 2016.
