thanks for all the kind words, and I guess I'll also just explicitly state this for anyone else who feels like going quiet, please don't. If you get a bunch of people in a room there's gonna be fighting sometimes, but we as a group, and I want you here.

I'll also remark that I gave OP the go ahead to post this thread (she ran the contents by me), but I sort of expected her to pick a different title after I explained why people got upset. I guess that's my bad, kind of

well, that's more of a legal question. I doubt you'll really find a definitive answer here. But from a practical standpoint, if you go with a big registrar like name.com (or whatever), I wouldn't really worry about all that. they're not gonna start jacking random peoples domains, because it would hurt their primary business of selling domains

khkddn:There used to be pre/post commercial segments on Nick where they asked random kids what their favorite Nick show was. 99% said Spongebob and maybe one said Fairly Odd Parents. Oh how far both have fallen since then.

the fairly oddparents creator was recently trying to start a new network that is family oriented and 100% definitely not a ploy to convert people to christianity

JammyTheBirb:I like Steven Universe a lot. It's not a perfect show, but for the most part, I'd say it handles its characters and their development pretty well. But not in 'Rocknaldo.' Rocknaldo is an abomination. Until that point, I was one of the few people who tolerated, even quite liked Ronaldo, but it's now entirely impossible for me not to see him as a selfish, immature, insensitive, arrogant... Ugh. The fact he decides to become a crystal gem without asking anyone is bad enough, but it gave me such an uncomfortable feeling when he decided to give himself a 'gem name.' A gem's name is who they are, it just felt so wrong.

I also disliked I think it was... Lars of The Stars? Lars came a long way, character development wise, and then he just whines about being jealous that Sadie gets to be friends with some people he admired and not him. And his new crew who look up to him so much is literally right there around him. Wow, way to devalue these gems, mate.

hey listen, what about the one where they have steven follow around onion, repeating what is happening on the screen to himself for 10 minutes

Mod post:

so this post is a little too vague for me to really fully understand what the intended meaning exactly is, but since it was posted in general discussion coupled with a request not to discuss, I'm just going to close this thread for seeming a little too bait-like, even if not intended as such.

Look, if you got an opinion about a social movement or whatever really, and want to post a thread about it, you can't ask other people not to respond. Responding to stuff is what a forum is for. Like if you want people not to argue with you in a support thread, I get it, but you can't just post your opinions under the guise of only wanting support, that's just asking for a conflict

anyway so I'm just gonna close this thread

yeah i mean if you really want to get down and dirty with it, you want to get stuff properly indented first to make it a bit easier to navigate. every time a html tag opens, you indent stuff a little bit further, every time it closes, you go back a bit. makes it easier keeping track of all them brackets, too

to be honest, the default layouts could be nicer in that regard too. Maybe I should go over those soon...

Ah sorry, I'll make the error message a bit more clear.

e: (by the way, being able to convert to html based layouts will be a thing semi-soon)

yeah basically you just want to be careful that when you're copying and pasting stuff around, don't copy from the "view source" thing in your browser, copy from the actual layout code, since it has special template codes that gets replaced with different values depending on what page you're on, that's most likely what happened

in your comic page HTML section, look for:

replace with:

<div class="postcomment" style="text-align: center;"><a href="[v:commentlink]" onclick='window.open("[v:commentlink]","edit","menubar=no,width=530,height=360,toolbar=no"); return false;' target="window"><img src="http://wolverton.thecomicseries.com/files/post_a_comment_pizza.png"></a></div>
i think one of your two pizza (e: the top one) slices points to the leave comic link of a specific comic strip rather than the dynamically generated one

you could probably just use [c:transcript][/] to check whether there's a transcript, and if so overwrite the comic file with that to alternate between them. it'd be as easy as replacing the [v:comicimage].

so instead of

[v:comicimage]

on the comic page section of your html layout, you do:

[c:!transcript][v:comicimage][/]
[v:transcript]

that's if you really ever only want one or the other, otherwise the above solution is better

if it was things unrelated to the extra page loop duplicating, it might have been a missing closing tag for the loop, but of course that's just a guess.

yeah, you're running into the automatically generated links for extra pages, like Amithea said, you'll want to look at the [l:extrapages] loop in the overall layout section

There's a few ways to tackle this:

Manual way:

set all your extrapages "page order" value to 0, thereby hiding them from the navigation. Then, just manually insert links with thumbnails for each page into your navigation HTML

alternatively, if you don't feel like messing with extrapage settings, you could also just delete the loop from your template, of course.

(kind of) Automatic way:

modify your extra page loop to point to thumbnails, and then just upload those as extra files (using the same naming scheme as your extra page links)
[l:extrapages]
<li><a href="[v:l.link]"><img src="/files/pagethumbs/[v:l.foldername].png" alt="[v:l.title]" title="[v:l.title]" /></a></li>
[/]
it's just the way those links are set up, the old image is still cached in your browser. if you hit ctrl + f5, it'll update
