Goud is a story about war, love and redemption. Oh, and sunflowers. Aimed at mature readers.

Clown's features are often distorted to the point that they seem stranded between human and not. As a child, they horrified me because they were simultaneously familar and foreign. As others here have pointed out, it's the uncanny valley effect.

But since a picture is worth a thousand words and a video worth a thousand still images, here's a Japanese McDonalds 's commercial.

Probably a parody, not a legitimate advert, but still creepy.

It depends on whether nudity serves the story or themes. But this is secondary to the creator's preference. Do not compromise your creative goals because of the demands of others. You know best whether or not to include nudity in your comic.

I've learnt from experience that internet readers are fickle - the people who demand certain changes from you today may not be the ones reading your work a month from now.

Thanks for the suggestion, Kyo :) I've created a mature content warning page and set it as the home page with links beneath so the reader can got to the first, last comic etc from there.

Thank you so much, Magravan. I really appreciate both the code and the advice. My comics are aimed at a mature audience but not extreme. More along the Vertigo comic line - some sex and violence but not taken to an extreme degree.

And your advice is solid. I don't want to discourage new readers. Maybe I'll just set my warning page as the first page and find a way to link that to the latest comic instead. Or perhaps including a warning page in the comic is sufficient.

Thanks so far for the input and advice everyone :)I've being checking out links and sites about cookies and code etc (not really my area of expertise.)

So far, I've found the code I have works perfectly but the only problem is it pops up on every page, demanding you put in your age. Obviously I just need to find the correct piece of code to limit it to just the first comic/page.

Hi

I hope I can get some help here. I want to add an age restriction pop up to my comic as it contains violence language etc. I have the code to add this age restriction pop up:

<script language="javascript">

var agePrompt=prompt("This comic contains mature content. What is your age?");

if (agePrompt>=18) alert('Welcome!')
else {
alert('Sorry! Come back in a few years!')
document.location=" ";//link if not 18

}
</script>

However, this age restriction thingie keeps popping up and age for age confirmation on every page, even after the reader has entered their age as 18 or above. Ideally, I'd like it to only pop up on the first comic page and once the reader has confirmed their age as 18 or above, they don't see it again.

Could you please help me with this?

Also, I'd like my first page (which is a disclaimer) to link to my latest page when a reader clicks on it.

Is this possible?

Many thanks :)

@JustNoPoint. This page certainly looks intriguing. You've caught my attention and I find myself drawn into the story. You have interesting characters and the set-up here left the reader wanting more.

How do you lock up a full-grown highly trained werewolf soldier? With his brute strength and training, can any prison hold him?

The solution - you get a psychic to trap him in his own head.

Hi

I'm having an issue with my Author comment box. Since uploading an avatar for myself, the text of my author comment now is under the comment box See Here This is very frustrating as the font is black and so is my page background so it's getting completely lost.

Could someone tell me how to adjust this so my author comment is on the white background? Thanks :)

Well, I'm glad it intrigued you :) Yeah, naked guy - he's a POW in the opening pages of the comic so that's the context. But yes, there will be nudity and vampires. Good combo, I hope

Well, my newest page is the Silver Handcuffs cover.

Read it here

A spin-off from Skins, this is a gritty horror/grotesque comic, exploring a love story in a world of occult warfare. Originally it was going to be light but I don't do light (guess I didn't get enough hugs as a kid) so if you want monsters, miracles and have a strong stomach, check it out!
