Notify your friends, family, and bank(s)/credit card companies that your account has been hacked and place a fraud alert on your credit cards.

Withdraw money out of your debit card so you don't lose it, because you can challenge a credit card fraud case but not so much with a debit card.

Get on someone else's computer, change all of your passwords to accounts you have access to. Use a long password. I use song lyrics. Long-ass song lyrics. Like, "imthekingofthesunbutgoddamnimafraidofthemoon". That long. The point of this is to avoid bruteforce attacks (where they guess your password a billion times. The longer your password is, the harder it is to guess it since they have to arrange THAT many more letters into the right combo in their guess). Any website that has some bullshit rules about how your password can only be X-many characters long is a bullshit website that you should use a unique password for because when they get compromised then your password is only fucked for that account.

Update your security questions and answers to have answers that do not actually make sense as replies. The "What street did you grow up on" answer should be some shit like 'macaroni and chease'. The "What's your dog's name" should be something like 1984 toyota corolla. Write the answers down somewhere for your personal use, right, but like, don't actually answer security questions like a rational human being. THat's how people break into your shit, by learning about your pets, the street you grew up on, your mother's maiden name...

As for how to recover your FB account without FB support, I don't use facebook but if I learn something I'll get back to you.

If I thought that my computer had a keylogger virus? I'd toss the hard drive and get a new one, tbch, reinstall the operating system, because some of those viruses just laugh at reformatting, man.

Left handers unite motherfucker

Yeah like

Re: keyboard shortcuts I have had tablets forever but i only starte dusing the shortcuts like literally this year hahaha

<stephen_crowder.jpeg>

Like more power to you if you have one, fuck it, what someone does with their money is their business, be it buying themself a cintiq or buying someone a cintiq as a gift

But it's another thing entirely to not be able to have one and then wonder if drawing is even possible for you if you don't have the lamborghini of tablets

@EWolf:

Serious advice time

I worked at an animation studio (as a piddly intern, not a cool actual animator but) and it was there that I formed my unswaying opinion on Cintiq and encourage you to take this advice to heart: Cintiqs are beautiful, they're great, they're sexy, I'd love one -- but you can't meet their potential unless you do two things:

1. Draw from the elbow and/or shoulder, not the wrist. The sheer size of a cintiq is designed for these large, arcing gestures that professional animators and cartoonists use.
2. Mount the cintiq on a rotating surface. I am told from under my rock that they swivel now, but when I WAS YOUR AGE AND ALL WE HAD WAS ROCKS, WE HAD TO MOUNT OR CINTIQS AND WE WERE PROUD TO DO IT. Again,b the sheer size and direct-draw nature of a cintiq us designed for these large, arcing gestures that professional animators and cartoonists use.

If you don't draw in a manner that lines up with the style of drawing cintiqs were designed for, then you're not worth a cintiq a Cintiq is not worth it.

Also: it sounds like your problem is poor hand control, not "not good enough tech." Like if you're drawing on top of sketches and shit -- that's fine, people do that. But if you think a cintiq is going to fix that, it isn't, and it's better to find this out at a $200 pricepoint. It's not like drawing on paper. The textured surface of paper versus your traditional tools in comparison to the surface of a tablet screen versus the stylus is NOT the goddamn same. Yes, it helps to do the direct-draw, but you will still run into the learning curve of hand control. Working with the digital, light-based colors does not have the same satisfaction of traditional media, pen and paper. It is closer to traditional but it is NOT the same, and if you are one of those 'I just like traditional' types of artists then it's NOT going to scratch that itch because at the end of the day you're STILL looking at a digital screen made of backlit pixels and the texture of drawing and nature of the visual is different.

Third, buying something new and shiny can indeed help you kindle interest in drawing, since interest and drive is something that we've discussed you are having trouble with, but seriously, I think an investment THAT goddamn expensive as a cintiq would just give you another potential pressure source that yields nothing but artblock, for example "oh my god i'm horrible i made my brother spend x many dollars on this and i don't put it to good enough use." You dig? I sincerely think, from the conversation had in "hot take", you are not actually ready to be bought a piece of equipment that gogddamn nice and expensive. It will lock you up.

So.

I don't know what you have and haven't learned yet but: Learn you some hand control. DRaw in higher DPIs until you do. Draw in arcs from the elbow. Learn to rotate the drawing and work while rotating. Cintiq is not going to teach you hand control. Look into cheaper draw-on-the-screen type things. All you need, at your level of activity, is 512 levels of pressure sensitivity and a decent graphics card. You are not productive enough for a cintiq, your lineart looks like you draw from the wrist and fingers and thus you are not technically trained to draw in a manner that befits a surface that large and so that's money you're wasting. DO look into buying bigger tablets to see if a LARGER tablet won't set your hand free and help you find hand control, if you can do that, but just because you can't have the Lamborghini of Tablets doesn't mean the world is over and drawing is "not possible." Like, seriously, if you can buy from a place with a solid returns policy? Buy a big-ass tablet, open that baby up very carefully, draw on it, see if that larger playing field works for you. Doesn't work? Return it within the bounds of the return policy to get your money back. The next tablet you buy does not necessarily have to be your tablet for the next 10 years.

But if your problem is actually lacking hand control, an investment THAT fucking expensive is NOT going to each it to you.

If it's a screen to draw directly on youre after cintiq is not the one and only. You could probably just do with a surface tablet for less than 500.

You also could do with an intuos pro.

Fuck girl you could do with a 1998 KB Gear Picasso just get the shit drawn.

I use a graphire 3 from 2008 and a intuos touch from 2012 to produce Ikon

So yah.... you're going to be fine

And before investing in a cintiq man allow me to sound like staff sergeant killjoy: you need to draw more before spending Karen money on shit you won't use. Cintiq is MILES out of your way to go for shit that will meet your personal needs better. You really need to address your lack of drive before investing stage 2 Becky money on something you currently are not in a mindframe to actually use.

Yo!

Let's do LOTD, which is where you submit to me drawing prompts (which can be anything, from "Redneck founding fathers" to "chicken salad sandwich") and then I'll select one at random and that'll be the drawing prompt for the next...10 days, then we update it.

So! You can submit LOTD prompts by replying here or by sending me a PM. After I get a few I'll pick one, and then you draw anything that the theme/caption/idea chosen applies to.

And then 500 e-funbux goes to the wiener.

Blunt because I am on my 10 minute break but

There comes a time when you have to decide what is more worthwhile: deciding to set goals, or feeling sorry for yourself.

The way that you get over the intimidation is by breaking the goal down into smaller challenges until there's one you think you can do. Do it. Then do something more complex. Deo is giving you great advice. The only way to get past imposter syndrome is THROUGH it and you just...honestly need to shit or get off the pot. You are talented. You draw at a level that could charge 200 a page. What you aren't, is driven. What you lack is confidence and nobody is going to give that to you. You can only build it for yourself.

Yeah like, Lackadaisy Cats updates once a month but you bet your ass she drops an update every month (with exceptions of hiatuses that she announces).

Ideally, you will want to update once a week, but you can get away with monthly, if you actually do deliver monthly.

There's a difference between taking a break and giving up. Take a break. If you feel that you're spread too thin then yeah you gotta evaluate what you can do without. When it comes to comparing yourself to other people though...I don't know if this will help you but I find it encouraging to compare myself to who I used to be a year ago instead.

You'll get a feel eventually for when it is and isn't OK to give to someone individually.

Like never give somebody something in front of witnesses who are also homeless because you never know if that's going to actually hurt them by showing the witnesses that they have something new/valuable, setting them up to get it stolen from them. Also, because you're outnumbered. Yes, MOST of the time nothing is going to happen but that doesn't mean it never does and noooobody wants to get fucked up.

If you donate, tho, donate to individual shelters and actual organizations and not third parties that give to said shelters/organizations. Because your money goes way further if it's not having to be shared with the third party. A grocery store/CVS/Walgreens/whatever asks me 'do you want to donate your change to XYZ charity' I say no without any shame, man, because the store itself is getting a cut. The store itself is making profit selling goods and already has some of my money, I'll go give to a charity outright.

LOL god IDK maybe he's sleeping on a cardboard box fuck

Honestly, I've ranted about it before so sorry about repeating myself, but

If you want to make a profit off of webcomics you design some merchandise. Look at your story world's companies, schools, and organizations. Make mugs, t-shirts, and other such things like iron-on patches about those fake logos. They are very palatable to people because they can express their fandom without being too inside joke-y. Then there's inside-joke merchandise, of course, referring to your comic's running jokes and so on.
