I occasionally roll some R's into an "apepepepep" for a "Rrrrrraaapepepepepepep."

I don't really know why.

Spinneret:

Disguising exposition is the best, and not in a way that's totally implausible. Maybe not the cleanest example of what I'm talking about but I feel like I touch on the idea with these two panels:

With the context on the rest of the page, I establish here that Jaunt doesn't see Hugh's friends very often, and also that Hugh has trouble with dimensional travel (don't we all?) without outright saying it.

I try to reply to every comment I get, but a combination of anxiety and or busy times sometimes let them slip through the cracks. If I ever see one I never replied to I immediately feel really awful :I

I don't profess to have a great amount of knowledge of how these hearings go or exactly what the legal side of the argument is, but goddamn. Every time I hear something like this I just lose a little more respect for the institution of law enforcement.

I hope you all can stay safe.

We can take solace that most people so spineless will never amount to anything.

I feel like it's best to start out a story with the characters knowing more than the audience, because if the audience doesn't know things but they're interested in the characters, they'll keep reading to figure out what's going on.

Once the readers are invested and you've done a good amount of character development, let people get attached to them, etc, that's when you can discover things the characters don't know. It has a better effect that way. The less developed a character is, the less impact knowing something they don't know is going to have. If like, 8 seasons into a show, you're really attached to a main character but you know that they're about to die because of something they could avoid if they just knew one little secret, that's when some real dramatic tension happens.

I hope that made some sense :D

Look, mom and pop shops are going to beat out fast food pizza chains, and they damn well should. All I'm advocating, myself, is that if you have to go with fast food pizza, Domino's is no longer a garbage tier option.

If you wanna get like, real quality pizza? Your town/city should have better local spots.

HapyCow:MistakeNPotatoes, do you have any commissions you can show? I'd love to see how you drew it!

Oh jeez. I've deleted most of them because they're all really old, but I did find these in my old art folder:

The first one was from an early fan on the comic, he wanted his cool dragon character being cool with Jaunt =p

But yeah, these are from people on FA, they might not even want you to draw furries if you demonstrate an affinity for other things like robots, aliens, etc. I find that the furry fandom is a good fit for people who like stories or art not focused on human characters (like myself), not just cute foxes, dogs and cats. Though those are certainly around.

I got around 20-30 for each of the above. I wasn't well known, you see :p you either have to draw porn or be a FANTASTIC ARTIST to make good bank.

You know, I honestly don't know. If I had to theorize, maybe it's because people outside of furries can just look up pictures of real people, but since furries are talking about fantasy creatures, usually of their own creation, they're looking for a way to get some sort of visual representation of their imagination. If you have an idea for a cool human character you can probably find an existing picture that does it pretty well, and paying someone to draw it doesn't have as much value to these people as it does to people where you create something from nothing.

Commissions outside of the furry world are actually kinda tough? In my experience anyway. I've been commissioned by furries but never by non-furries. It's weird.

Without getting too gross, then - start up an account at one of the junctions for such things like FurAffinity. FA has burned a lot of people and there are other sites out there, but this one still seems to be the most popular.

You'll have to do a lot of non-commission work for a bit, but probably the best way to get people's attention is furry rule 34, so, look up what's hot, or maybe find some undiscovered territory and start cranking out pieces to get noticed.

From there, you'll probably start getting followers pretty quickly and you know the racket from then on. Furries tend to pay pretty low for less known artists (the typical is like, 10-15 for a sketch or even line art, honestly), but if you start to get popular enough you can reach Spelunker Sal levels or some of the other names and they charge ridiculous prices, sometimes reaching over 100 or 200. Which, honestly, isn't that ridiculous but when you consider what artists are usually paid it sure seems that way :p

But yeah! Furries definitely pay to have weird stuff drawn. I've considered going down that path too, so, no shame man. Good luck! :D
