Hello!
I get being a bit reticent to post on forums. The internet has such a reputation for trolls, but overall I've had pretty positive experiences & Comic Fury seems especially nice and welcoming.

Firefly Jelly:Is it a creator-focused con, or a media- focused con? You'll be busier at the former, but either way it'll be part tedium and part fun. Practice a 15-second pitch for your work. Make a portfolio for people to look through by printing out some of your pages, preferably larger size. Prominently display your url. Network with other creators. Look at what they do and how they market their work. Wear comfy shoes, because most con halls are concrete and it's murder on your feet.

Thanks. That is some helpful advice.

Merged Doublepost:

confusedmuse:I haven't done an AA myself, but I stumbled on these Youtube videos yesterday, and so far they seem like solid advice (I've only watched the first two): YouTube playlist link

Thanks, I will check those out.

Since next week I am doing my first Convention Artist Alley (this one in Brooklyn NY) figured there are probably people on here that had been to the Artist Alley, were Vendors, &/or full fledged invited Guests... So may as well see what advice people might have.

Hello & welcome! I get kind of regretting a username, long story short mine was based on something that has since turned out being mistranslated by scholarly types.

Welcome! Witches and aliens are great, though that may vary depending on the specific witch or alien.

Putting in a recently added character as he is probably the most fitting for this.

By "full life" in the bio I'm referring to being in the likes of Ozzy Ozborne & Keith Richards, minus being a rock star.
He isn't a priest, but likes to put on various "costumes" that are moreso unifroms of various professions & can be kind of convincing (mostly by raw force of personality).

I occasionally draw tabletop RPG characters from the games I play with friends. One of my favorites ever is one from my friend when I was running a 5E D&D game: Hoan Mugbottom a dwarf who was a warlock of an Archfey (Earlkinog-below) who by the dwarf's reckoning duped him. The archfey enjoyed messing with him by having faeries braid his hair and having butterflies follow behind him. His pact was the blade, which allows him to create a weapon, which was often a rapier that he wasn't very good with. Note: 99% of this was the players choice. He rolled to see what weapon he got and finally rolled a maul, which we decided would be this dark twist on fantasy like something from an R rated version of the movie Legend. The sparkly butterfly wings are from when he casts Fly, and part of my 1% of adding to the messing with the character.

Though I am an avid tabletop RPG gamer I have gone through long stretches of time of not playing due not wanting to play or just as much not playing for various reasons despite wanting to. Tastes change sometimes, and I know plenty of people who just lost all interest (at least from my perspective) and either stopped playing or kept playing despite their hearts not being in it. Though I think part of it with Tabletop is finding the right group &/or system, which can be tricky and may feel like more effort than it is worth. Not to mention the issues of coordinating schedules and any other drama.

Anyone have pointers about how to set things up on TV Tropes? I am not above occasional shameless self promotion and my comic leans into tropes.
