I have my dream career as a comic artist thanks to this site. I am eternally grateful, and I am happy to support you. I only wish I had known about your patreon sooner.

Thank you so much for your hard work.

Please, don't let this amazing site decay because you think you have to give us more value just to have permission to ask for support. Don't think that advertising your crowdfunding efforts will make you look bad. That's not true. People here love this site to death, and you already offer an excellent service to all of us completely free of charge. There's absolutely nothing wrong with advertising a completely voluntary crowdfunding or donation page after offering a good service for free for years. And if supporting you will make it easier for you to work on the site without as much strain, that's even more reason for us to want you to do it, in my opinion.

"Looking for some comics set in a tabletop fantasy style world", 6th Jan 2021, 6:45 PM #6

As the title reads, anything with dwarves, elves, goblins, wizards, sword and sorcery, dungeons, ect.

Basically anything that would be right at home in an old school fantasy rpg. Anyone know any good ones? I've been wanting to read some lately.

I recall hearing that as well early last year. I was kind of hoping that this would be resolved by the new year, so I didn't press the issue. But if the current server host isn't going to be supporting https any time soon, then for the survival of this site, it might be time to pack up and go to a new server. I understand that would be a lot of work, so if money is an issue I'd happily support a crowdfunding or something so that Kyo can afford to get it done.

This is the best site on the internet to post web comics, by far. I really don't want to see people turning away from it and all the talented people on here because their browsers are warning them not to visit it.

"Marble Gate Dungeon, a high fantasy comic about navigating dangerous dungeons, and rocky relationships", 6th Jan 2021, 6:23 PM #8

Hi everyone! I've being posting my comic for around five years now, and I never really got much attention here on comicfury. I'm very proud of the artwork and writing of it, and I hope you'll give it a look!

Main site:
http://marblegate.webcomic.ws/

Mobile Version:
https://comicfury.com/read/marblegate/comics/680339

Also, I LOVE comics about traditional tabletop style fantasy (elves, dwarves, dungeons, sword and sorcery ect). If you have a comic like this, please share it with me in the replies so I can read it!

I requested this about a half a year ago, and was informed it was being worked on, but I've not heard anything since.

None of our comic sites are listed as https in the URL, they are all http, meaning they register as "not secure" by nearly all web browsers (the lock icon right next to the URL). This is a problem for multiple reasons. First off, while I've found that our comic sites work alright in Chrome and Edge (aside from the browser trying to alert me that the site is vulnerable), the Brave browser blocks all comic sites hosted on ComicFury with a privacy warning. Furthermore, I've had multiple potential readers that use Firefox contact me telling me that links to my comic website are being blocked by their browser with privacy warnings, and they avoided the comic all together because of it.

Also, any and all images uploaded to our sites are blocked by most browsers when used on external sites. I was using an extra image file uploaded to my website for my patreon account, and I learned that recently the image in question was being blocked on most other browsers, showing only a broken image icon on my patreon.

Is there any chance of seeing this problem dealt with in the near future? The mobile version of our comic sites are https secured, which is great, but the main sites themselves are not. It's probably only a matter of time before ALL browsers block ALL sites that are not https-secured, so this seems like something important to address sooner rather than later.

Thanks for all your hard work Kyo. We appreciate all you do for us!

Regardless of whether it's an issue of the antivirus or the browser, the lack of HTTPS (the thing that makes your site register as "secure" with the little padlock symbol in the address bar) is DEFINITELY an issue that needs to be addressed at some point. While a lack of https was fine for years, it seems an increasing number of browsers (or antiviruses protecting the browsers) are blocking sites that are not secure with https, or at least issuing privacy warnings that are scaring away nervous readers. Is there any hope in the future of getting https security for our comic sites?

I do not know how this could be accomplished (or even if it's possible at this point, I'm not a web expert, nor do I know how ComicFury works), but I have had multiple readers message me across different websites distressed or annoyed, saying that visiting my comic site issued a "privacy warning" that scared them off. I occasionally get privacy warnings as well when I visit my own site that block me from entering it because the URL registers as "Not Secure".

What can be done about this? If this trend continues, then in a few years our sites made here on ComicFury may just get blocked off all together because browsers can't confirm that they are safe to use. If it's not something that can be fixed, it may be time to start figuring out how to set up a ComicPress site on Wordpress and migrate your comic there.

Thanks for the hard work. This site is the best comic hosting site I've ever seen, and I've held off building my own site to host my comic because this one is just so perfect for all my needs.

Chippewa Ghost:Marblegate for Fantasy.

A pious farm girl and a jaded dwarf risk the labyrinth in this lushly drawn dungeon crawler! For anyone who ever plugged away at the infinite floors of a procedurally generated RPG, this is your comic!

Thanks for the recommendation!

"FIXATE BACKGROUD IMAGE - Simple Layout Editor is driving me crazy.", 7th Oct 2017, 3:00 AM #14
User avatar
Someone help me please, this is driving me insane.

There's a checkbox function in the simple layout editor called "Fixate Backgroud Image?". The idea is to set an image as a background image of a box, position it, and decide if it repeats and whether it scrolls or remains in one place.

After an hour of fiddling, redoing the entire box style 3 times, I simply cannot get the background image to stay in one spot again.

Every single time I open up the simple layout editor, it automatically resets the checkbox to being unchecked, and forgets the position I told it to be in. It will not save it.

I've had this happen before, but after a few minutes of fiddling, it just randomly worked and I hadn't dared touch it since. Now I needed to change the links in my Navbar, and the background image in my author comments is off the edge of the box and won't sit still no matter what settings I use in the Simple Layout Editor.

Have a look for yourself:

Is this a glitch? Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this?

Thanks for saying so! The pages you're seeing now were made almost a year ago, and I've learned a lot from the last year of comic-making. The pages will get more detailed and better quality as the story progresses.
