Well, this whole thing has rather enraged me. I've been practically shouting myself hoarse at anyone and everyone who'd listen, calling, emailing, the like. And they still pull this garbage. Since Ajit Pai decided to make a tone deaf idiot video about us, my buddies and I made one about him. Turnabout is fair play and all that. We keep fighting guys, and while we're at it, enjoy some digs at his expense:
The inspiration for my story came from watching the wild rabbits behind my sisters house. They were playful, sometimes mean to one another, and they loved to come into her house to try and get her to feed them. (She's severely allergic to rabbits and didn't know they lived there when she moved in. Never the less she loved them.) When I'd sit on the back porch I'd talk to them and they'd sneak up to me a little at a time and every time I'd see them a little more of their personalities would come through.
The more I watched them the more I was reminded of rhymes I heard as a kid and it just spiraled from there. Goon is actually based on one rather mean ginger rabbit that bullied all of the other rabbits every time I saw him. He was one of the very few to survive the hawk that plagued these poor fellows.
Thus, the comic was made because of skittish little wild rabbits and a bully rabbit.
Funnily enough, I used to live next door to one the writers (well, in and out script writer, essentially. Not really a big role in show creation or anything) for Quantum Leap. It was such a fun show and he was such a noxious jerk. As a kid, I figured he must've had a hand in creating the bad guys, since he was so unpleasant. XD
That's why I'm trying to give Enterprise its due. I guess I just have a hard time with prequels and...well there's definitely some plot holes I'm having trouble with (Ferengi is honestly the worst offender of these, I think) but, what show doesn't have a ton of those? Haha.
KarToon12:*waves arms* I'm a Trekkie too! :D Which version is your favorite? Mine is the original series, although I very much like Next Gen. too. ^^
Hello fellow Trekker! :D *waves back*
Oh man, I love all of them! I guess they're all a favorite for a different reason. The Original Series I enjoy the most due to its charm of the time, TNG I enjoy because of the clear camaraderie between the crew (here's lookin' at those eyebrows Riker!), DS9 is a little up an down for me. I like the characters and even some of the infighting but...I think it derailed itself a little bit in the middle portion and had a wandering storyline as they were just figuring out what to do with the Jem Hadar, Voyager I enjoyed because of the 'out of our depth' feeling of it. No ground support, no Federation to run to, I dunno I just liked that feel.
The only one I haven't been able to like is the prequel Enterprise. I've watched it, heck I'm still making myself watch it but...I dunno there isn't that charm of The Original Series, the crew spend SO much time infighting I don't feel like they've developed much of a rapport. (Still on Season One) I'm trying to watch it though, I hope it gets better so that I can have good feelings towards it but, so far I'm a little off put.
Hahah sorry 'bout the veritable novel I've written for you! XD I'm just a big Star Trek fan.
ZeroGee:You can't beat the original scifi stuff. :3
Haha, you said it! Buck Rogers is also a wonderful series and I just love the very 'home made' feel to some of the SFX. XD I'm that way about Flash Gordon too, lol.
Hooo boy this is something I should've done quite some time ago.
Greetings all, I am Syn! I've actually been on the site for about a year or so and...well, I seem to be inefficient at introductions. Alas I'm a terribly shy person (despite being a loquacious git) so it's taken me a while to say hello. Sooooo in an attempt to make my salutations less robotic (or perhaps more? Who knows) here's a few things about me:
I love Sci-Fi, both in terms of books, games and TV. Same with fantasy, horror, thriller, and mystery genres. I am a huge Star Trek fan, and I very much enjoy Blake's 7.
I'm a Synnie and essentially I make tattoos for a living outside of my day job.
Haha well, that's me in a nutshell. Pleasure to meet you and sorry for lurking so long before giving a proper hello. (If it makes you feel any better, I've been on DA for about a year and I have never posted in the forums. I'm working up the courage, haha.)
Alrighty this is the first time I've actually put on my grownup hat and posted in the forums. (So of course it had to be for shameless self promotion, right?) XD As per the first posts instructions, I simply posted my favorite page of my webcomic thus-far. Thank you to everybody who checks it out, I hope you enjoy it. :D
