Ah, yeah... moments like this are really special. Just existing happily with people. It's so comforting.
I have similar rose-tinted memories of being in middle school and hanging out at my friend's house on a summer's day and watching her play Mario, drinking soda. Sharing my soda with her dog. That friend and I drifted apart, but the memory is still so pure and golden in my mind.

Sure!! You'll probably get a bit of shedding no matter what, but here's what I do to keep my fern healthy...

-water it frequently, never letting the soil dry out completely (but don't overwater it to the point where it'll get root rot, of course)
-mist it every so often
-make sure it's in a high light environment, but that the light is indirect (a room with North or East facing windows)
-fertilize it constantly during the growing season (extremely low dosage, added to its water supply and optionally to the water you mist with)

I would recommend getting a Kimberly Queen fern instead of a Boston fern if you live in a drier environment. They look similar to Boston ferns, but can withstand dry air better. I live in an extremely dry region and rarely mist my Kimberly fern, but it still seems to be doing very well.

Ferns are actually way easier than they look, and I would recommend trying one out!! Many varieties also grow pretty fast, so they're very rewarding! I love watching my fern unravel new stalks.

Ooh, I was hoping you’d show up. I got a monstera adansonii since I don’t have much floor space and they work better as hanging plants than a regular monstera.

Jealous jealous jeeealouusss!!! Those are sooo cute! I do really want one of the BIG BOY deliciosas but all monsteras are good monsteras.

Re: light: I am now a hopeless slave of fluorescent shop lights. My spineless yucca is passionately embracing it and my other plants are giving it a good try.

I've been thinking of getting some of these for my office! They won't work for my apartment because of its ummmm unique architecture but man, if I could set up a grow light in my office... I could propagate so many mother-of-thousands... (we sell them to fund my student club; they're quite the moneymaker!)

Can't believe it took me so long to take pictures for this thread, I'm a houseplant fiend. I just bought these great midcentury plant stands at an estate sale and I'm excited to show them off!

At the moment I'm a little limited by space and by sunlight, since my apartment is extremely dark save for directly in front of those two windows. I'd really like to grow some more challenging species at some point, when I'm living somewhere less constrictive and not going out of town all the time to do fieldwork.
I want to grow more lilies... more decorative lilies. More stuff with big, flamboyant flowers and showy leaves. And more stuff that bears fruit! I'd love a monstera plant and a citrus tree. Some day...

My friend took their boyfriend to the Anastasia musical for Valentine's day and wanted a custom card for the occasion, so I drew this doting looking Vladimir for the pun they had in mind:

There are many many many Goofy timelines in this vast multiverse of ours and I do believe that's one of them; his other canon "real names" include G. G. "Goofy" Goof and Goofus D. Dawg, which are both... incredible names???? HIS FULL NAME IS GOOFUS????? HIS FULL NAME IS GOOFUS.
The 1950s version of him was called George G. Geef, played by Dippy Dawg aka "Goofy"; I think that's the canon you're thinking of.

Goofy is a remarkably complicated man.

AAAAA I JUST REMEMBERED ONE OTHER FAVORITE DAD™

Calvin's dad!!!!

image

He's the SPITTING IMAGE of my own dad, right down to the hairline, big glasses, and white-collar wardrobe.
His dynamic with Calvin is super solid comedy!! It's clear he loves the kid deeply but Calvin really makes it HARD

Also Calvin's mom looks very very similar to my own mom in the 90s so uhhh guys I think I might be Calvin? Troubling if true

OH DANG UHHHHH I WOULD LOVE THIS CAN I GET A FAUSTUS

If you wanna draw him as his furry self that would be fine BUT if you're more comfortable drawing him as a human I'd be totally down for that as well.

Ref!!

I enjoy seeing people's individual takes on what he'd look like as a human, too, so don't feel beholden to that ref if you choose to draw him as H. sapiens~

Thank you so much!!

SHOW ME UR DAD FAVES

Note that they absolutely do not have to be good dads, just dads you like

Mine is 100% Goofy, full stop, just look at this babe.

image

He really tries but he's just so inept at everything, I love him. And his history is a character is really interesting, he's changed a lot! In the 1950s he was turned into this everyman figure who struggled with cigarette dependency, poor eating habits, road rage, and all sorts of other midcentury suburban vices, but as the years progressed he took a turn into being way more toony and more removed from real life troubles, closer to his original incarnation-- I just really like Goofy, you guys.

Also nobody talks about this but his wife was absolutely cheating on him (gif under spoiler)

Y'ALL I HAD A GHOST CHARACTER.

image

This is Phineas, he's Faustus's great-great-grandfather, also he's dead.
Originally he was going to be Faustus's roommate!!!!!!!!!
Also there was gonna be a storyline called "Faustus Buries The Hatchet" where Phineas discloses to Faustus that the reason he still haunts this earth is because he was not buried with his hatchet :|
HIS HATCHET THAT WAS USED TO MURDER HIM :| :| :| :| :|
This storyline went nowhere because I literally had no other ideas that would flesh it out in the slightest. As Faustus developed as a character, I decided it would be better if he lived alone so he could stew in his own complexes have some space to himself, and so Phineas was banished back into the netherworld and his personality traits were all transferred to Faustus's boss because I hate to let a good character go to waste, you know?? You could honestly read this situation as Faustus's boss being possessed by a spirit if you'd like, it makes things a lot more interesting
