I would choose Randy Newman, but he already did that MONK theme song ;)

maybe Caro Emerald?

IRL,I have no ability to mask how I feel, so people seem to empathize with me on a level that approaches ESP.

There are officially more Facebook users in the world than Catholics.
So how do you approach that walled garden with respect to your comic? Are you trying to lure people to your own site? or get people to go to your page on facebook? do you have a Business page? a personal page? a group? do you pay for advertising on FB? How do you post on FB, visually speaking? What are your thoughts on competing with memes? Is there money to be made on FB?

I have a personal page for Bruno Harm. which is sort of just my FB page but I'm using the pseudonym "Bruno Harm". I also have a "Bruno Harm" page where I just post the comic. I have started to redo my comic as a square to fit the whole thing on Facebook. People can read the whole strip without going anywhere. I include a link to my webpage too, but very few people go there from Facebook. I'm not a fan of the way the comics stack on my page because it's like reading backwards, but what can you do? I started a group called "Bruno's unpaid interns" where I thought I could brainstorm with people that were interested about the story and making jokes and stuff, maybe do like behind the scene stuff, but it didn't really catch on. I think there's potential on Facebook obviously, but you have to compete with the memes. People love memes. and they are so prevalent, and so mass produced, it's hard to compete with anything that takes more of an attention span.

Hey.
Welcome to the CF! I'm just getting back to coffee myself. I got burnt out on it after a few years of security work. Just a social drinker these days, but now I'm thinking it might be a healthier alternative to my crippling diet soda addiction...

The shortcut buttons are a definite plus. The XP-pen 13.3 has 6, and had CTRL-Z, Zoom in, and Zoom out already set up. I added CTRL-ALT-Z so far, and I'm pretty good with that. I'm thinking of trying to adjust the pen pressure though. I don't feel comfortable pressing down that hard on this thing. but maybe that is more of a psychological thing.

I just got an XP-Pen 13.3!!

It's really cool, but I have nothing to compare it to since it's my first drawing tablet ever. I was worried about adjusting and what kind of effect it would have on my art compared to the old ink and paper thing, but So far so good!

I try to avoid politics in my comic. I wanted something fun and accessible. Is it for everyone? I'm not sure anything is anymore. I try to mix things up as much as I can. I like having unnamed and questionable ethnicities in my comic. or play with perceptions a bit. But I'll admit I'm not always the most sensitive to the modern issues.
That said, I tend to brush on themes of the "Haves" vs the "Have nots" , and the importance, fragility, and dangers of trust.(Not sure how much of that actually comes through the work.. I also focus a lot on puns)

Here's the most risqué comic I've done so far. The point is supposed to be about what we teach our children, but I could hear some peoples hackles rising through the internet.

You want to draw my comic for a while?

I've had zero time the last few weeks.

This is good stuff. As I'm stuck on designing a new character right now. I Haven't had a method set in stone for making characters. I guess I've kind of based them on a mix of people, just like I made their personality. Bruno is a mix of Dick Tracey and my grandfather, But I made him extra square (except for the belly).

Being a crime procedural, I have to make almost a whole new cast for every adventure, so I do this a lot. It's usually just bits and pieces of famous people or just playing with different features until it feels right.

I'm currently working on a character I plan to use a bunch. Sort of an arch enemy. but nothing feels right yet. Maybe I've built up the Idea too much in my mind, but I can't quite decide what this person should look like.

I find Drawing to be a lot like Meditation.

It can be hard to get yourself into it sometimes. But once you really settle into drawing, that's what there is. Everything else is outside somewhere. It's a space that takes practice to get to. But I like it. My wife is envious of "the way I can just let go of everything and escape". Her words. It is an escape for me. I can let go of life's daily trials and tribulations and just draw.

Before Bruno Harm,

I mostly wrote poetry.
I started writing an epic fantasy but felt too confined by my love of the classic tropes.
Then I wrote some Noir and Cyberpunk Noir. I loved the feel of it, and the sound of it, but not the themes so much.

I'd cast my son to play Jack... since the character is based on him

Then I found out that Alec Baldwin was born to play Bruno

Mae is a loving wife who likes gossip and mysteries. She's the ray of sunshine that keeps Bruno from being a total Grump. She likes to mess with young people by surprising them with her frank way of speaking, and breaking their perceptions of "old ladies" without being too crass though.
