The funniest insult I got personally was some drunken crust punk at a show trying to make fun of the fact I was wearing a Nirvana t-shirt. he would just keep saying,

"Nirvana!".. "man".. "I mean, Nirvana!" ......."nirvana man"

I was told that the way I draw eyes are disturbing.

I mean... it's a cartoon. I've seen some pretty crazy cartoons out there. Triangle heads and uni-eyes. I didn't think I was going out on a limb, but what can you do. To be fair, I was trying to be more experimental with eye shapes when I started. An Idea I backed away from as I went on.

I think you misunderstand. We don't get these comments on Comic Fury, Because you have to be a member, but out in the wild, on my own site, I get Robo comments constantly, the comment is vague or unintelligible and there's a bunch of links or code added in. There's nothing nice about these, except that sometimes they write really nice things to try and trick you into letting their spam on your site.

Just sing at the top of your lungs some show tune and start dancing.
People on the street are always ready to join in on a big musical dance number. I don't know why more people don't do this.

Anyone else get these spam comments that are really flattering? Is it painful to delete them? I get these "Your writing is so awesome! I'm so glad I found this!" and then there's the links to whatever crap they're selling.

Sometimes I just hesitate a few seconds, wishing it was a real comment.

you are over thinking it. And also seem to be taking the man's side. What kind of friend are you?!

This is for made up people for levity purposes. No real feelings were hurt in the making of this question. Answering this thread is considered consent to use any and all material for commercial gain. It is also consent to waive any legal rights and to agree to arbitration for any grievances.

If a man left your friend for another woman, what type of fish would he be?

or what words of encouragement would you give your friend?

You can never fail with famous movie pick up lines.

like," Come with me if you want to live"

or whip out your magnum and hit 'em with the 'ol "I know what your thinking, did he fire six shots or five? well in all the confusion, I've lost track myself. So I guess you gotta ask yourself... Do I feel lucky.. Well.. PUNK.. do you?"

I think it's a bad Idea. The general public has no Idea what Tapastic is. The comics that have really succeeded used social media like Facebook and Twitter. You think the Oatmeal or Sarah Scribbles needed Tapas? They are using free and ridiculously cheap labor to try and build their brand. Honestly I'm not convinced they can deliver on fame, fortune, or even exposure above and beyond the comic creating community. It seems like a bum deal to me. And are they seriously going to own your IP?! forget that noise. If you do have any kind of success, they'll rip you off like an old fashion Motown music producer.

When writing a story, we get the outline. the broad strokes. maybe a couple of scenes and interactions we like. But there is always those steps and side streets that have to be walked before we can finish up. Sure we've got A to Z, but that P to Q part is probably not totally fleshed out. Also, when you get down into the gears of a story, some things don't line up as good as thought they would.

I think this situation is exacerbated when making a comic. Now you've got pages released one scene at a time. They have to stand on their own a little bit. Plus, the pace of a story can be slow enough that new Ideas present themselves, and you have to decide weather to incorporate them or not.

what do you think?

Have you run into plot holes, or decided to make changes mid stream?

Have new ideas pulled you in a new direction halfway through a story? If so, was it a good thing or bad thing?

What things are you still tinkering with even in heart of the process? character interactions? Theme? World building? Back story? foreshadowing?

How much are you moving the ball in each update? and does it feel like a train on a track or a wild horse on an open prairie? or maybe some other metaphor in between?

In the 8th grade I had a crush on a girl named Mandy. I actually won a limo ride to the 8th grade dance, and told my mother I planned to ask her out. In her excitement, and without telling me, my mother went ahead and sent a bouquet of flowers to Mandy in school with a card from me asking her out. I was confronted at lunch by her giggling friends asking me about this. I told them I knew nothing about it, to which they replied that they knew it was a joke. By the time I found out what had happened, I was so embarrassed, that I spent the rest of the school year avoiding Mandy, too scared to talk to her.

I wouldn't have minded if that went differently.
