Borderline personality disorder is serious. Are you getting professional help? My mother had that and it was horrible. You need someone in your life that can be your rock against that storm, and the odds of finding that person in a romantic relationship is pretty slim. find a therapist you can talk to and trust and help you keep your bearings, then you can worry about finding a love interest that isn't a schmuck.

making funny panhandling signs for Homeless people. Charity or cruelty?

I saw one that said "Best friend stole wife, need money for thank you card" I wondered if that kind of thing garnered more cash? Also, it might be fun to brainstorm these.

But maybe I'm an @$$hole..

GMan003:What do you mean by "the" constant? There's a lot of physical constants. The speed of light (299792458m/s). The gravitational constant (0.00000000006674N/kg^2-m^2). The Planck constant (6.626x10^-34 J-s). The rest masses for the elementary particles. A couple more parameters for quantum chromodynamics and such. And that's not counting all the derived constants - like Coulomb's Constant, which can be derived from Planck's Constant, the speed of light, the fine structure constant, and the elementary charge (the latter two themselves being derived from the quantum ones I don't have memorized).

I'm not a physicist. Just watched a documentary on Einstein. He basically debunked the Idea that time was a constant, and wondered what constants we may be holding up in error now.

I was thinking about Einstein, and wondering if the speed of light is really the constant in the universe? I kind of doubt it.

Think of it this way,

Since I've moved to the beach, we've had a girl struck by lightning and killed, a boy killed by a shark, and multiple shootings.

So.... Your alive. Count your blessings :)

CF gets bought By Tesla:

We're all millionaires for no apparent reason, even though the site now loses money every day. We start selling print versions of our comics that magically remove pollution from the atmosphere, but they are preorders only. the comics won't be available any time soon.

I've had a couple of ideas I wouldn't mind trying out, but they all seam too big to try and take on right now, If Bruno Harm ever became my day job I would probably start something else as a hobby. Of course, at that point it might be too much like bringing my work home with me.

Skinheads need suspenders to really identify the subculture and what kind of skinhead we're talking about(at least back in my day, maybe things change)

As long as I didn't kill anyone, or cheat on my wife, I'm sure It would be like meeting any other stranger on the street. We might exchange a few niceties, maybe Bruno would complain about something in a funny way and I'd laugh.

Amen to that. I'm getting the bills paid, and that's about it. I might be able to donate a buck to somebody here or there, but signing up to hit my credit card every month seems extreme.

MK_Wizard:Well, I ask for a minimum fee for early access, but I also have remastered versions of my art of which I ask for more. Then there's the privilege of getting commissions or the desktop of the month. You're not paying to read the comics. You're giving minimum donations to help support the artist to afford to make art. Art supplies are expensive even when on special.

ok,
So do you support other artists? does it wipe out the money you get from people that support you? is it a wash?

Am I giving artists money so they can give other artists money?

Just for fun,What would this site be like if it was bought by some big company?

say.. Disney: All webcomics will be put into their "Vault" and they'll offer all the artists here a sub minimum wage contract to churn out odd, family friendly cartoons that were designed through market research, and also "jump the shark" sequels like Aladdin 8 that's mostly about the animals that were magically created by genies.

As a fun side note, you should see this thread in the sidebar on the main page ;)

I don't understand Patreon.
At least not in the case of webcomics. I can understand wanting to support an artist. But signing up for a monthly fee for an individual comic? I don't pay for individual TV shows. I can't afford to be a patron to every comic I read. It's a strange concept to me.

I thought I'd ask people as a reader, do you sign up to pay the artists of the comics you read? If so, how many? how much? what motivated you? was it the desire to support your favorite creator? was it the extra's you get for being a donor? if so what extra's did you do it for?

welcome to the CF!

I'd like to hear more about working in newspapers. Did you work for a syndicate? Was it your own IP or something else? Editorials maybe? was it a good experience? bad? Are the Newspapers dying?

Also, are you a millennial? I notice your comic appears to feature one and I was curious, but I understand if you'd rather not say. I'm a Gen-X'er technically, but not by much.

There are plenty of people that I have gotten to know on the internet that have just disappeared. They stop posting. their facebook goes silent, and I wonder, did they die?

Probably not. But it got me thinking, if I die how would anybody online know? id this something people put in their will now? do you have a plan in place? I just told my wife to let people know if I die, but I'm not sure what sites she'll actually go to, but I'm hoping word gets around. Anyone else thought about this?

It's important to have an outline, and an ending.

beyond that, it's a personal choice. I'm averaging almost 30 strips per story. That's a lot of jokes and amusing dialogue to write ahead of time. I'd have to take months off to hammer out each story. I think I'd risk stalling out the whole project. So I come up with the story, the ending, the characters, as many scenes as I can imagine at the time, and then start cranking it out. Every week I know what needs to happen in the story, but I usually have to struggle to find an amusing way to convey the information. I'm always torn between the desire to make something perfect and amazing, and the desire to finish a story before I die of old age. I'm turning 40 this year, and I'd like to make a nice 200 page book of Bruno Harm before I kick the bucket. I think, after 3 years, I'm only 25% done. So I can't slow down now ;)

clean, consistent, readable, interesting.

It sounds easier than it is. I know I fall waaay short in some of these areas.
