Brooding anime boys that can turn into werewolves/dragons/etc. Double points if the setting is within some royal society with pretty clothes. Negative 1000 points the moment there’s a love triangle that breaks up brooding boy’s main love interest or brooding boy gets creepy.
Nyomi:>Do not be afraid to chop shit. Think about why this scene is in the story. What does it progress? What does it do? If you're struggling to come up with an answer or feel you can make the point of the scene in a more concise way, don't be afraid to chop it and fix your skeleton a little bit. This was something I've had to learn the hard way lmao.
if you update once a week and have 25 pages/chapter you're looking at a max of 5 years. At 20 pages/chapter its a little below 4 years. It will literally cut out a year of work if you stay within 20 pages.
Also if I get my math wrong on any of these please correct me! The people must know
jamanning7:-4 Chapters left excluding the current one
-Chapter average-27 pages
-3 pages a week
Wowee 3 pages/week sure speeds things up! I broke down the numbers a little more for you since your comic is shorter:
your pace sets you at a whopping 156 pages/ year
that translates to 13 pages/month. So it takes a little over 2 months for you to finish a chapter
so at your current rate, it will take you 8-9 months to finish your comic as long as each chapter stays around 27 pages. Very respectable!
junoro:Okay, so I actually recently went through the future events I have for Land Shark, and figured that I can wrap things up in about 9-10 chapters of about 20-25 pages each, if I'm being generous.
I am currently releasing Chapter 9 of my story, and it took about 5 years to do that. So another 9-10 chapters is...
another 5 years, huh?
Wait, but I DID take 10 months off for school and I'm not going to have that program again so maybe 4 years is reasonable, haha ha ha h a ............. Please check my work and let me know if I'm way off on this.
This also depends if you stay at the same comic production rate you were in the first half.
Ok guys I decided to start using my math powers for evil.
I'm almost done completing chapter 2 of Lateral and it has set me at a consistent pace of 25 pages/6 months (approximately one page a week). My comic is currently 6 arcs with 5-7 chapters each. Using my math skills I've found that if I stayed at my current pace it will take me about 20 years to finish my webcomic. As such, I am now reconsidering the length of several arcs and also my life.
NOW, I need people to commiserate with, so give me some numbers for YOUR comic so we can all have an existential crisis together. Or if you are good at math do it yourself
Numbers I need:
-approximate number of chapters/arcs left (be generous)
-best estimate of future pace
*Also if you are one of those 1% people who are totally okay with finishing your comic in 20+ years good on you. But this is the thread for people who did not plan properly.
**Also please only give numbers if you already like a good chapter or so in for accuracy
