I have an Etsy listing as well,

Basically I'm trying to break into doing Art for a living, and I'm trying to "Cast a wide net" as the phrase goes

What else would you guys be interested in seeing, and moreover, what do you fine folks think I should make next?

Looks pretty good MrTorchy. What materials did you use?

I'd be the last person to give advice on what to sell on Etsy, seeing as how I make things myself but never got round to it.
I have however seen jewelry of all types go pretty well on there. I'd say unique one offs may attract buyers.

Also maybe sets. Like make a set of masks that could go as a collection with a unified theme. That could be cool.

I used White Clay, and low fired it at cone 5 (or Six I don't remember) Then painted it with Acylic

I would love to make a set! Next I'll make the mask with the Gem in the forehead, follow suit with the series, maybe make the stand's faces eventually.

I'd say it's a pretty weighty piece at that then. Best of luck with yer making.

I'll lower it down, it's mostly because of the cost of making it where I live, I have no Kiln of my own haha

Merged Doublepost:

What would a solid price be?

I was referring to the actual weight of the piece. I find personally that a nice heft exhumes quality as opposed to the cheap plastics and compounds we're so used to these days. I realise not everyone shares that sentiment.

Don't undercut yourself either when it comes to selling. Do some research and find a competitive price.

Also I remember seeing some tutorials on how to build your own kiln. The only drawback I remember is controlling and maintaining a steady temperature. There's also some newer clays out there that bake off in the oven. I've seen them used for fine sculpting.

And you want to talk about cost of materials. Pop over here and take a look. They don't call it the rip off republic for nothing!

Cool mask! I like the photo too, but I'm not sure if the light source should be facing the camera in the sales photos. Maybe a more classic key-fill-rim setup would look better for sales purposes?

Also, maybe make molds so you can make duplicates.

You are totally right, I'm taking new pictures soon for sure.

I also have a plaster mold to work with, so that works out.

So uh... there's a guarantee that I won't be hunted down by Pillar Men, right? Cause that'd be a bit of a deal breaker...
