Do not make jokes about it, they recently announced the closure of a free hosting / webcomic community in Spanish called "subcultura.es". A lot of people will have to move all their comics and art to other sites (and many only had their material on that site), other authors have not even heard about it and when they return on January 1 they will discover that they have lost all their work.
It is the equivalent of an immigration crisis (well maybe I exaggerate) many of them are going to tapastic, so many comics will appear in Spanish.
What do you think of that? I would recommend this site to some of them but not many of them know to talk English (although I do not technically either, since I use the google translator ...)
Guess who's the new-ish, unfamiliar with all the running jokes person. Yeah, me. I want to bring CF back as an undead servant. Don't look at me. Necromancers don't like showing techniques and stuff to muggles.
Shame it actually happened to that Spanish site, though. Can't they still bring their comics here? There are language options, after all. Or do people absolutely need to have an English version of their comic alongside the original one? (admittedly, it'd bring more readers...)
Yikes! Don't give me such a fright, dude! There are exceptional comics I wouldn't know where else to find online if ComicFury went away. Comics I wouldn't have discovered but for ComicFury. Hopefully our hosts will first ask for help if they ever get into trouble. Sites can be saved by their communities. But if you let them break up... sure, many would find another home elsewhere -- away from each other, and it would never be the same anymore. So, fingers crossed.
This is no joking matter, guys! The day comic fury collapses, the alligator mascot thing escapes and destroys the multiverse!!! Come to think of it, there must be a universe where that already happened, hence we should all be dead. Um...
