I'm drawing a horse, but I'm not sure which mane looks better, you see, I'm trying to make the mane look really fluffy, and a bit curly. So I drew two variants and I need help choosing which one looks the best.

I’d say the one on the bottom. The pointy ends make it look more hair-like.

The second one is the best imo. It's more wavy than curly, but it looks very natural and suits the fur on the legs.
The first one is definitely fluffy, but it has an... otherworldly feel. It looks a bit like seaweed to me. Which isn't a bad thing. It would definitely make your horse a perfect kelpie. But unless you're aiming for that kind of supernatural fashion, I'd say stick with the second mane.

Second one for sure. At first I just looked at each of them as a whole to see which gave me a better impression and it was the bottom one, without even noticing or reading what the actual difference between the two was. And then when I looked and read about the specifics, it all became clear. So yeah. Second one. That's my story. The end.

I like the second one better. I find the flowy effect prettier and more natural.

The 2nd is more natural, and the first looks like lumpy gravy. Wow, I didn't know horses could be so glamorous.

I was thinking the second one, the first one just looks at little off, I'll post the finished drawing here when I'm finished, I just started the colouring.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I love horses, this particular horse is a Gypsy Vanner (or Gypsy Cob).

Yep, definitely the second one! More detail in the hair is always better (the first almost looks like paint splatters). I like the clustering on the first but definitely needs more individual strand detail.
Don't be afraid to add stray hairs here and there!

Can't wait to see the finished drawing!

Vanners are so awesome! Some seriously beautiful hair there! And it's everywhere! Friesians are another beautifully haired breed.

(For anyone interested, there's a breeder of Gypsy Vanners that has foals born every year on live video.

I watch the babies every year, and it's an amazing thing to see them born and take their first steps!)

This is the final drawing. I'm naming her Lulu.
Drawing horses makes me wanna learn how to ride, when I get a job, I'll be saving up for horse riding lessons, that'll get me out the house more. Plus I've always wanted to. I've had a few lessons, I picked it up quite quickly last time so who know what will happen.

Oh she is absolutely stunning. Drawing horses is so complicated and you pulled it off. It's a gorgeous piece.

She's beautiful! The purple outline is a nice touch.
