Maybe I'm just being a goof, but I can't seem to find the "search" function in the forums anymore - to search through the threads/posts. Am I remembering something that didn't exist, am I having a mental slip or has it been eliminated?

I don't recall there ever being a forum search, just a webcomics search. Though you can always go into google and use "site:comicfury.com/forum" or whatever.

Maybe Kyo could put the search link back, but have it redirect to a Google search with that prefix?

EDIT: Though it would be good to have a disclaimer about this, since some people avoid Google for privacy concerns.

The forum search is offline right now. I went looking for it a while ago and found this error message.

it's true, it got removed because it was bugging out (and even before then the index was pretty incomplete) - it'll get readded eventually but there's a bunch of stuff with higher priority (still working on recoding the entire site, getting it php7 ready and just in general much more maintainable - progress is going good though, you can check the footer of each page to see if it's a new page or not.) so it might be a while, the fact that even at it's peak performance, google tended to be better doesn't help that case much. turns out search is pretty complex if you want to do it well!

Oh my god yes.

*points to 47-page inbox and 57 page outbox*

This would be SO helpful. Searching contents of the PM for a start, but it'd also be nifty to be able to search for users, too. Sometimes I know I had a conversation with a specific person; other times I don't remember who the conversation was with but I remember the contents. Having even one would be a godsend.

very conflicted about that

i love the sound of the feature, and it would be useful to myself as well

i don't so much love the sound of coding it in a way that's still relatively easy on the server. I'll pop it on the issue tracker and it'll probably happen, but also, probably not any time soon. Possibly shortly after the forum search is back (but no promises)
