I can edit my comic layout just fine and all changes are saved, it just so happens that every time I save any changes, CF displays a blank page with a number sign. It's literally just a "#" on an otherwise blank page.

Kind of a waste of time when I have to go back to CF, then my comics, then click on "manage comic", then... well you get it, instead of being able to stay on the layout editor page as usual.

At first I thought it was just a glitch, but after one week or so, something must be wrong. Restarting the computer, clearing caches and all the usual tricks don't solve the problem, so maybe it's on CF's end? Has anyone else encountered this glitch?

I've been using the editors a lot for the past 2 days, and I haven't encountered that.
Using latest version of Chrome.

yes, it still does. its a minor annoyance honestly, but it does happen every time.

I'm using Microsoft edge, an internet explorer thing.

And that's why Edge should be outlawed... *Nod, nod*

listen fellas, I appreciate your strong emotions towards web development, but this ain't the "complain about edge" thread, let's try to keep it on track so we can get this issue sorted

I'm not sure how to add the slider thing in a forum post so brace yourself;

Is edge a massive pain in the ass for coding or something? sounds like my dumb ass needs to switch to chrome. thanks for the heads up.

well, I mean, I do want the site to work on edge as well. But if you could try and see if it works for you in chrome/ff that'd be a good next step to narrow down the possible issues. The source code looks normal from what I can see (appears to be missing a < at the start but I assume that just happened during copying), it's unfortunately not guaranteed that it's showing you the actual source for the page showing only the hash sign instead of reloading it to get the source (i know FF is a bit fucky with that, not sure about edge)

this message is brought to you by chrome.

installed chrome; it doesn't do the hash thing, edge is poo.

installed firefox; fine here too.

wow, I'm away for a few hours and Catburger does all the work for me XD

@Kyo yeah I keep getting the same thing as Catburger's screenshot. I use Edge as well, and at first it only happened every third time or so, but now it happens every time.

regardless of Edge's suckiness, as long as it exists, it's obvious the site should work on every browser, so "forget about edge and try another browser" isn't the solution, people. That said, maybe it's an Edge-specific problem? It's really weird :O

Merged Doublepost:

Kyo:it's unfortunately not guaranteed that it's showing you the actual source for the page showing only the hash sign

well, I tried getting the page source, and it "only" showed the whole CF page code (what we're supposed to see) as if nothing was wrong. However, inspecting the hash sign does show the source code for that.

it's really just what you'd expect, though.

okay, finally got my hands on an edge virtual machine, and this should now be fixed!

it's a weird one. Real weird. Couldn't find shit about it on google either.

So first of all, the code catburger pasted was actually the source code, which is to say that the page was loading normally and should have been displaying normally. But for some reason that I'm not going to bother looking into, the submitted form data (POST data), in combination with this meta tag in our page <head>:

<meta http-equiv="x-ua-compatible" content="IE=edge">

makes the page just render as a single hash sign, instead of what it's supposed to be. Maybe it's some sort of length limit or XSS filter for POST data or whatever, I have no idea, this appears to be a bug in edge. Anyway, no matter, I just removed the meta tag and things appear to now be unfucked.

that's really weird, but as long as it's fixed... I just tried the editor and everything is alright again. thanks!

now that the problem is solved, I'm gonna close this thread before it becomes an unnecessary anti-edge derail or before a newcomer necroes it in five months for whatever reason.
