Hi hi hi there!
Otto Mottonn here from the newly activated Murder U webcomic. I was just wondering how one would upload and use a header image for their little corner of Comic Fury on their comic page.

Also, I'm wondering if there's a way to have a top banner colour and how we'd add that; I just signed up yesterday and am finding the different..."controls" very counter intuitive.

Thanks again for any help and advice given, fellas! Take care and good luck to you all with your comics!

If you mean a banner for your comic you can do that my going to My Webcomics > Manage > Info and settings > Edit/Delete webcomic banner

as for top banner color you'd have to do that through your webcomic layout. Depending on if you want to use the simple layout editor or if you want to write it in html will be the difference in how it's done.

Thanks. What I meant was on your comic page if you could have a header image and a header banner colour with a smaller image. I used to have a smaller image in a top banner colour when my personal website was up. I kinda got used to it and would like the option to have an image or a colour stripe type deal.

If you're using simple layout editor all you'd need to do after uploading a banner would be to go into simple layout editor and open up the webcomic title/Banner under the overall section of the editor.

Bear with me as i have a very limited knowledge of html but I'll try my best to give you a solution until someone inevitably comes and corrects me:

If you're using html, using the code
[c:banner]
                <a href="/"><img src="[v:banner]" alt="[v:webcomicname]" id="banner" /></a>
            [/]

will add your uploaded banner wherever you might put it into the html.

Now if you just want to add an image that isn't you banner to the site and use it as you banner you would just need to use <img></img> tags and place them in the <h1> header.

Example:
<img src="imageurl.jpg" />

Do you mind going into detail what you have trouble with? I'm looking to make the site more usable and feedback like this can be a little bit hard to come by, because usually by the time people give it, they've already gotten used to the site. More detail more better, but anything you were having trouble with/not finding intuitive helps. You can also send it in a private message if you don't want to do it here

What I want to have above the comics page is an image with the logo for my comic and/or am image logo inside a colour scheme banner area above my comic, with navigation bars above and below the comics pages, as well as links to archives, and other Tie-In stories in this series .

I can't figure out how to add images to this forum. I could just show you exactly what I want with a quick doodle...

Do you have a Banner loaded up under Manage- Info/Settings- Edit/Delete Webcomic Banner. Banner should be 500 X 90 pixels.

It should load automatically onto your page depending on what template you are using. If you want to put a border around it you will need to go to Manage- Webcomic Site/Layout- Edit Layout html

the forum doesn't have an image upload function, so if you want to embed an image, it already has to be hosted somewhere. You can use your webcomic site for this, in your webcomic management, just head into "Manage extra-images & files", select the file, hit upload, and it'll give you a link to the file, which you can then use in conjunction with the "add image" button when making a new post

My header image appeared out of nowhere, but it turns out it's too big. I've just spent the last and a half hours trying to figure out how to upload a different one and following links trying to figure it out.

I've uploaded an image 3 or 4 times and my header image still hasn't changed.

May I please have a walkthrough for how to do this? Thank you.

I apologize for much of a pain in the ass I've been trying to figure this out. Like I said, I find it confusing and counter intuitive. I had the same problems on Webcomics Nation when I was on there.

the problem may be just that your web browser is storing a copy of the old image. If you overwrite the image in your extra files, and then go to your webcomic site, make sure to hit CTRL + F5, this tells your browser to reload all resources on the page, including that header image

Thank you! I just tried what you said, and it got rid of the over sized image, but the new one I put up isn't showing. Just a little broken link image icon.

I guess my browser is wacky.

does the new image have the same file name? it's broken for me too, so it probably doesn't exist (with that filename) anymore - you might have to either reupload one with the same name, or change your header section in the simple layout editor

Gonna try it again.

Also, I've uploaded a new comic page but it's not in the Recently Updated part of the Comic Fury main page.

shows up for me, albeit it's on the second page now. The front page doesn't update in real time, only once a minute, that may have been why you didn't see it

I did upload it a few times under the same name and nothing. I'm not good at this kinda computery type stuff so it's hard for me to get things done and explain what I want, etc.

It might be loading it under the exact same name that is doing it. Add a number or change it slightly and try again. I've had this problem when trying to upload something.

how about you invite me as an author to your webcomic (under the "Authors" tab, "Invite authors") - making sure to check the "Can edit layout?" checkbox, and I'll take a look
